I'm not looking for early access or beta invites, alpha testing etc. I would like to see a completed, launched, and running mmo funded in part or all by kickstarter.
Thanks!

Ah I see. So in a couple more years you think we are going to see a massive influx of ks MMOs? That would be quite a sight
No, there will be these, EQN and maybe 1 or 2 more AAA developmental prospects through 2017, and the occasional odd bird like Crowfall. I seriously doubt we'll see another serious major crowdfunded competitor because the first 5 burnt out all the special people and unless Blizzard spurns off a couple people, there's a shortage of big names to throw around.
edit: changed "idiots" to "special people", because I'm nice like that.

I understand what you are getting at, that KS MMOs develop over a long & drawn out process. But at least those earlier projects had meaning.
KS MMOs are slowly losing their meaning nowadays.
It seems to me the original intent was for indie devs to bring something game-changing to the table that a publisher would not touch otherwise; or to involve players in the game creation process; or simply to provide early supporters with unique benefits.
What have many KS turned into nowadays? Soulless crap that should have never left the drawing board. Or a dude on laptop looking to make a quick buck, brought to you by "Fantastical Games co". Or even flat-out scams in some cases. I guess that's just what happens when everybody tries jump on the bandwagon-- the idea gets cheapened immensely.
That being said, there are still projects worth supporting. It's just that more work has to be done to separate those out from the pile of BS.
Lol, that is pretty awesome. If that guy gets funded. More power to him lol.
Skimming through the list, only Camelot Unchained seemed to even raise enough to create a game. Identity sounds like maybe the other one that has a hope (the $150k they raised isn't enough on its own, but sounds like they possibly had investors waiting to fund them based on the kickstarter's success.)
None of the games is going to be a AAA MMORPG, as even Camelot's impressive $2.2 mil is a really tight budget for a MMORPG, and none of the other projects come close.
This doesn't completely rule out micro-MMORPGs, sort of in the vein of Haven & Hearth. I think that sort of game is possible on a sub-150k budget, it's just not going to feel anything like a full-budget MMORPG (both in quality, bugginess, and scalability.) On the flip side the cost also frees these games up to take bigger chances and do unique things (as H&H did) which could produce some fun gameplay.

I guess part of me liked the pre Kickstarter indie mmos because at least they were released in all their broken glory haha. Roma Victor, Xsyon, Wurm, ATITD, Earthrise, Black PRophecy, Perpetuum, Fallen Earth. Sure they were all pretty rough, some fell flat on their face as soon as they launched. Others have had complete overhauls. But they were out and they were available and they were 100% real.
I just hope we start seeing some finished KS mmos soon.
SOTA is expected to be feature complete by summer which IMO it is already shaping up nicely. Decided to pick it up on steam when I got my tax refund, don't regret it at all.
It's still rough here and there, but what they've done with such a small budget is pretty good. I'd def rate it above those games above which i did play/enjoy many of them. It's no SWG in game-play/feature options by any stretch, but it's community oriented design is definitely along those lines.

Shroud of the Avatar? I should look that up some more
Yep I keep forgetting SOTA isn't a known acronym yet haha. I'd give it a bit more stewing time, but by fall or so it should be a pretty well put together game. Perfect for those who like to spend time in the world gathering, exploring, and occasionally taking part in an RP event or some PVP. It kinda reminds me of a NWN player world infused with UO elements.
To get a good idea what the game is all about, check out Grakulen's Walkabout for release 14.

Don't forget Undead labs, they are owned/funded by Microsoft and their Class 4 will hopefully release around 2017 as well. The studios is lead by Jeff Strain, lead designer on projects like WC3, GW and the first few years of GW2. He also pitched the idea of Wow to Blizzard.
NC Soft will surely make new MMOs as well, they might not be what we in the west are hoping for but it is still AAA games.
But you are right that the larger publishers besides them seems to have either given up on MMOs or are waiting with releasing information about possibly games they are working on so early they have been done before (which probably is wishful thinking).
Then again, I expect most crowdfunding games to fail anyways, many of them have good ideas but you need good programmers to make a successful game, Vanguard teached us that if nothing else. And there are few really good programmers who risk working for a kickstarrter company when they can choose to work for Valve, Blizzard, Rockstar or similar companies.
Trove did some crowdfunding through their own website and it's now released.
It might be more comparable to Steam early access games since it was already in early Alpha when it started to accept crowdfunding, but on the other hand it had Kickstarter -like stretch goals and extra rewards when funding levels were reached. Now they've managed to complete the game and deliver everything, including stretch goals.
Trove was never on Kickstarter. It offered early access for a service that existed. That is very different from a promise to make something by a future date.
