When I played, there were anywhere between 2500-3200 people playing. The cantinas were always full. The hospitals always had doctors. Just like back in the original game.
If you go to the link I posted above, they have a server status box in the upper-right corner that shows how many people are on at that moment. It's been maintaining 1200-2000 people right now. Others might be waiting for it to be complete, like myself.
Thats not a lot of people considering how many people claim it was one of the best MMO's ever made.
Lets face it, people talk all kinds of shit about these old games, but when it comes to actually playing them, .... naah ..... too old and the graphics suck.
What they really want are complete remakes with cutting edge graphics, plus full loot pvp sandbox mechanics.
Am I right?
Nope, you are wrong.
More modern graphics, sure. Sandbox mechanics, what exactly do you mean?
Full loot PvP, well there are people out there that want that, but those that do are not the same crowd that would like a modern Everquest.

There's also not a lot of people that actually know that an emulator exists, or has been in the works for so many years. That's why I posted the link here. If more people knew, then they may flock to the game.
Originally posted by Dracogeek Most people haven't heard of it, let alone played it...Wish would be the game I'd resurrect.
I don't think Wish should count because it was never released. But going by your rules, I would say add Dragon Empires.
I got to play Wish and enjoyed it. It was a lot like classic UO, but sadly I didn't get enough time with it.
Dragon Empires was one that I was looking forward to for years, it was the only game that I ever joined a guild for pre-launch. I wish CM would sell what they had to a good MMO company and have then run with it.

I am not much for ressurecting old games, there was usually a reason they died off.
If I had to select one it would be Vanguard. It seriously would need a new engine, Vanguards problem where unlike most games not the gameplay but the still very uneven engine and loads of bugs that never actually got fixed. It was a fun game though so a ressurection with a new game (and a new name as well) would actually be worth the effort.
You'll probably need some 3rd party mods to get it to look right in 16:9 16:10, though.
I actually preferred the older Tie Fighter. And I am assuming when you say we want a game resurrected, that it implies new content and development, otherwise it would be like bringing someone back only for them to be in a coma.
Any new infinity engine game in the spirit of the old BG1&2, Planescape torment would get my money.
As far as MMO games go, I can't think of any that would be worth it.
The only one I could come up with is WoW, but it isn't dead. Well the old WoW might as well be dead. To see WoW go back to their roots, have at least some kind of real character development have a world that requires cooperation and the community that went with it would be awesome. But I know it will never happen so not much point in wishing for it.
For an MMO, I guess MXO but with a better random mission generator than what they had. That was the first MMO I ever heard of someone attempting a "living story".
For singleplayer PC games I would like to see someone update and re-release Syndicate, and not that fps they released a few years ago. Also I would love an updated version of I-War more than anything.

Im really surprised so many people remember it. "The Repopulation" may scratch that itch tho.

I think Rusty Hearts deserved so much better.
If it had gotten more attention and the developers had been more diligent...
I want to play it again.
