I can't log in either. It tells me my account is not registered (which I seem to remember means it is not subscribed).

My account status is inactive, just as my husbands and he can log in.

At this point I have given up. After having to deal with removing my security token to be able to reset my password and now I can't log in, because the game comes with a nonsense error message*, it's just not worth it.

I 'think' it means I'm not subscribed, but then again I have always had extreme problems understanding their error messages (like when it complains that my one-time password consists only of numbers, because that is not allowed. Not that I have a choice in how it looks, since it comes from my software token).

They have a financial report due at the end of march so they are trying to boost the numbers by activating all accounts, which makes the sub numbers look better than they actually are.

Its a 10 day subscription they gave you for free, as well as everyone else.

Cheap and rather desperate tactics to try boost numbers.

They do this with every update. I been playing it exclusively during those times because i don't see why i need to pay $15 a month when i can catch up to the best geared players in these free weekends.

Has nothing to do with financial reports.

    Really?

A "free weekend" that lasts nearly 2 weeks (longest one ever), at the exact time when financial reports that will give subscriber numbers is due?  Keep in mind that they are giving 2 weeks free subscription time to all non-subscibers here, this isn't free to play access because subscribers are still paying.  This is like the government making a new forced "training program" that classes people as employed right before unemployment figures are announced XD

    It's a coincidence right?

If WoW gave free subscription time to everyone that isn't paying right before a financial report people would call it just as I'm calling this.  It is what it is, obscene number bloating and a horrendous sign of desperation.

Free game time is not counted as paid subscriptions... the fact that they have 10 billion people playing for free in a sub based game doesn't mean that have 10 billion subscribers.  It does nothing other than get people back into the game and potentially subscribe.

And WoW does give free game time away... it's never counted as a paid subscription.  Number of accounts always exceeds the actual number of paying subscribers.  If they counted accounts, they'd have 20 million or more.  But what's the point in counting heads that generate no revenue?  Oh wait, to fulfill your conspiracy theories...
