As a game design major they actually implemented a lot(Not all) the features I think the future of MMO's require and that's very exciting. They one up'd me in the way they have designed the game to play like Risk where the world reset after each "Season". Man this is exciting for me I hope they fulfill their promises and I'm proud (at least at the moment) to be a devoted backer.

not too sure how close to risk it's gonna be. the developers have some interesting ideas but, how those play out is still very much still up in the air. I'm going to keep my eye on this title. im not going to hold my breath. ffa full loot pvp is not really my cup of tea.
Welcome to the forums! Glad you are excited about mmo gaming!
Thank You! Always have been, it's interactive and social while being fun and exciting.

Really don't get the logic behind this view. Do you believe Pantheon will do any better by chance?

Sounds like they are heading towards more Tera like combat with reliance on visual queues then ground colors. Pre-Alpha stuff was their first stab at combat.
Very nice.... you are being optimistic that Pantheon will even make it past closed beta.
I will +1 this
Was a personal question. Poster made comments about Pantheon being the game "we have all been waiting for" and hoped it gave the same "epic feeling of WoW in the BC days."
Just think it is funny that the logic of CF will suck because it is "niche" and for "hardcore PVP players" who apparently are small in numbers (lets disregard actual numbers), doesn't apply to Pantheon which is niche (even more so) for hardcore PVE players.
But it's the internet, why do I expect things to make sense.
I see what you did there
Edit: Ok, I went and watched the mmorpg.com video on it and it does sound fantastic (I think UO is the greatest mmorpg ever made). Not hyped because I no longer have the ability to trust any game developer but will keep it on watch.

Depends on what you believe RPG means or requires. Character creation/progression has many traditional elements of MMORPGs and the EKs & Campaigns will have thousands of players like a MMO, so really up to your personal POV.
Really not buying into the hype on this one. Looking at the few short vids available for game play etc, there is nothing amazing, combat looks interesting but very similar to all the other red telegraphs on the floor stuff (not that this is necessarily bad). The main thing I just cant understand though is how we in the west get all excited for games with such poor, outdated and substandard graphics!
Why is that Korea, China etc can come up with games that have awesome graphics like Bless, Black Desert, Blade n Soul etc and we have to put up with stuff like Wildstar. I am not writing this to flame any game I am just wondering. Could it be that the overheads for the production of games in the west is so huge, thanks to the big money grabbing corporations, that games companies just cannot afford to spend the time they want on games, so they settle for rubbish easy to code and design graphics engines to cut costs and corners.
This is a serious question. I wish Crowfall all the best, however for me I am just not going to get past the 2nd rate graphics
My hype for this game is pretty low tbh. Yet another mmo in the works that craps all over those of us who prefer to move via the mouse. I hold left+right button and keybind abilities.
Other aspects of the game look really interesting but yeh the combat will screw me over. Not everyone likes WASD ya know people.
First, define what a PVP or PVE player is.
If a PVPer is someone that likes to play competitively against other players, they win by a huge number. But if you narrow it down to some defining factor like "Full Loot" or "FFA" then ya I'd agree, but then we'd have to define PVErs as those that only PVE and don't participate in PVP at all (most PVE games have PVP) so it is rather pointless to do so.
Pantheon couldn't even get their KS funded. Not to say they haven't made huge strides since and have a decent following, but lets not get too ahead of ourselves comparing populations of unreleased games.
I'm not a "defender," simply stating my opinion and pointing out things I find interesting about those that apparently have the need to be attackers that I'm pretty sure serve no purpose.
As far as EQN, I'm still awaiting it and not sure where it has or hasn't gotten me. No egg that I can see. I'm a gamer and like games, when something comes along I like, I'm happy. Unlike individuals like yourself that seem to have the need to add your negative comments that add nothing to the conversation about a game you don't have interest in. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
Lastly, you do realize we can see each others post history right? Do I need to point out all the games (including EQN) that you were "bubbly" for? Especially the ones saying "Smed said it so it must be true" or whatever, come on now. Your name says enough as it is.
Would like to know what I did that apparently struck a nerve though, honestly don't remember talking to you before.
Unless you think I'm someone else (is it the green?).
