What do we get if we started with Imperial Edition?

fistormfistorm Member UncommonPosts: 868

I was curious what we start with in the B2P world if we started with the imperial edition and we want to go B2P?

Do we start with having all the content we see now since we bought the Imperial Edition or do we have to purchase the entire content all over again?

"The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited includes all the great gameplay from the original PC/Mac game, plus all the updates and content additions, including the exciting new Justice and Champion systems. If you’ve ever played ESO, you’ll be invited to return to the game and experience everything new in the world without game subscription fees. If you’re new to ESO, you’ll make a one-time purchase of the game and then continue playing without restrictions for as long as you like."

well guess I was kinda wondering what the box price was going to include.   Is there any of the DLC's that come with box price?   Like zones, quests, ect.  Content wise I was wondering where we would be starting out with the Imperial Edition box.

Like do we get 0 dlc zones and just the imperial edition bonuses itself, mount, pets, ect.

Or do we get starter zones DLC, maybe Cyrodil zone DLC along with the imperial edition?

I guess what I'm mainly asking is what is the content starting point we have to start buying from with the imperial box.

What is downloadable content (also known as DLC)?

DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited consists of game packs with optional adventuring content (zones, quests, etc.) added to the game to enhance your game play experience should you choose. It is not required.

Seems pretty clear to me, from the links, that you don't get anything extra except for the bonuses that were originally included with the Imperial Edition.  When the game goes b2p, you get all content offered at that time but will have to buy future DLC.

Now I found this one digging in support.  But its very unclear.  It kinda says you buy the game and you get all zones, quest, content, ect right now just with the box price.

Also goes on to say that the DLC's will be expansion of the current game world....  so its very unclear what the starting point is.  Accodring to this article, your buying starting point would be after the game world thats already currently out, am I wrong???

What advantages does the new version of the game give players?

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is the full ESO experience with no game subscription required. Players make a one-time purchase of the game and can play it at no additional cost for the lifetime of their account. The Crown Store will be an optional in-game store for players to purchase cosmetic and convenience items. In the future we will also release DLC packs via the store to expand the world of Tamriel.

If you have the Imperial edition you keep everything you had when the game was a sub game. You do not loose any content. Beyond that you get the following if you remain subscribed

    <span zos_col1"="">

    30-day Membership:

    • 1500 crowns at the start of each 30-day membership period
    • Access to all downloadable content for the duration of membership
    • Exclusive character progression bonuses for the duration of membership
      • 10% bonus to experience point gain
      • 10% bonus to crafting research
      • 10% bonus to crafting inspiration gain
      • 10% bonus to gold acquisition

    Beyond that... No perks

When it goes B2P you keep everything you have. If you are playing right now and have the imperial edition then you will keep everything that comes with it.

If you choose to keep a sub the you will get monthly crown store points, 1500 per month subbed I think, and access to all future DLC that is released. If at some point in the future if you choose to cancel the sub then you will have to purchase the DLC through the crown store.

If you have the imperial edition now and choose not to sub when the transition happens then you will just have to purchase the DLC as it is released. You wont lose anything.

I understand it completely as what I posted a few minutes ago.  You will have access to all of the current world, the starting point, but will have to buy DL content as it's added.  That DLC could be expansions to the game world or other types of content.  If it's placed in the store, you will have to buy it to have access unless you have a subscription.

Thats amazing, thats like F2P for the entire current world then.   I just dont understand why are they giving away the entire current game and features currently for free?    Seems like alot to give away for free.

Here I thought I would have to buy atleast the three zones and cyrodil beyond the two starter zones.  I guess I'll be getting all those for free...  very nice!

They are not giving it away for free. Unless you already own the game, you have to buy it first. And if you already own it (like you do) you've already given them money in the past.

It's an investment of sorts. If they can convince people who've already spent money on the game in the past to come back, the odds are good they'll be spending more of it if they like the current state of the game. And at the same time they are drawing in a ton of new people who may be averse to subs, but don't mind paying for the game once, with the occasional DLC and cash shop item if they think it's worth it.

Many of the younger generation MMO players that grew up with GW 1 & 2 fall into the later category. And many of them probably own Xboxes as well.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

They are not giving it away for free.  You already paid for it, plus extra for the mount and another race.  You just don't have to rent the game you already bought anymore (starting on March 17).
