Just saw that they are running a sale on steam for $15 and snatched it up. Didn't get in on the kickstart but this seems like a good deal for just checking it out if anyone else is interested.

I don't usually say anything negative about the game but even $15 is a stretch..
Wait till its more developed and at that time the price should be low too.

Even if underdeveloped, at $15 its not too much to be worried about. $40-60 is too much.

Lol, for the number of Steam games I've got sitting in my library, unplayed. $15 would probably be a good buy.

I'll play along. What F2P game has deep crafting, a generated mission system, public quests, both action mode and RPG mode combat, player created cities, and a ton of non-combat options?

So for 15 bucks you can log in today and play what they have so far?
Nope, they're releasing the testing in phases. You can only log in at certain times, in certain places if you have a certain founders package.
To me, this is smells less of troubleshooting and more of marketing.
This is untrue. Servers have been up 24/7 (aside from patching, maintenance or emergency downtime) for a good while now. And yes you gain instant access and can play now. I can understand Lerxst's misconception though. In early alpha a windowed approach was used for players. Some players had permanent access and others had weekend access. This was done away with a while back in favor of 24/7 testing for all testers.
As with anything though I'd recommend you do your reading if you are considering a purchase. The game is in alpha and there will be a wipe just prior to launch. You can read the reviews on Steam here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/322300/reviews/ to read the opinions of other players who have played the game. If you are looking for something in a launched state, you should wait though, it is an alpha. The game will be F2P at launch and there will be an open beta stage just before launch where you can try it when it's in a more polished state.
It's worth it, but keep in mind its a early access game. Lots of players have been burnt on not understanding that concept, me included. However if your into a comprehensive crafting system and would like to get a head start on game concept and mechanics I clearly recommend it in it's current state.
That being said tho, I think the game is about a year away from release day, and thats gonna mean stuff is gonna get broken, fixed and probably broken again. So keep that in mind.

To the haters, the 15 dollars is for those who wish to support further development of the game. Not all game makers have the luxury of being funded by major publishers or have the desire to be controlled by one. As a consumer, I don't want a gaming scene where the only games I get to play are AAA titles funded by triple A corps.
I really don't understand the hate against early access. No one is being forced to support any of the EA titles being made. The players have the choice and some power to decide which game gets developed and what features are important. I understand there are EA titles that just went missing after being funded or some that lacked the promised features. Thats just the nature of the beast, you know the risks. Besides, even triple A titles got launched without features that people expect or were promised.

Huge problem though, its not so much Early Access as barely being Early Alpha, the game is incomplete, and while i am not saying the game is going to turn into another 'spintyres' there are enough games out there that just never get finished, for whatever reason, and personally i think this game has a lot of hurdles to overcome before it becomes anything close to complete, maybe they can do it, maybe they can't, so personally i'd sit this one out and see if they manage to finish it in the first place.
i ll pay 65 $ or monthly 15$ for final game if it is worth , but not 15$ for pay to test !
Very interesting, I bet your comment will be on CNN late night news.
Spend 15$ on the game if you dont mind a unfinished one, otherwise dont. Also who cares if some random guy/girl on mmorpg dosent want to pay for the alpha?
15 euros/dollars isn't really that much is it. Go to the movies and you'll spend more (for a shit movie probably), Go to the pub for an hour and you'll spend around the same (spending it all on sbeer that tastes like piss). Is it really such an issue to spend such a small amount of money on an alpha version of a game?
I bought it yesterday and i must say that even though it's kinda rough in some ways i actually like it. Crafting seems to be pretty deep. I feel like i've just scratched the surface. Had some problems with the steam overlay in the beginning but i got rid of that.
Someone said earlier that it's in the same vein as Fallen Earth and i agree. Combat is better though.
All in all i'm actually enjoying the game and i'm glad that my money helps the development.

While the game needs work, after spending a few more hours with The Repopulation, I have come to realize the main issue with the game is that I'm too stupid to play it.
It's like SWG meets Fallen Earth meets Shadowbane, only waaay more complicated. I remember how god awful FE was when it first released, but it ended up being one of my all time favorites. Here's hoping the same for The Repopulation. It's already in better shape than FE was at the same point in development.
