I mean if I am going to play an MMORPG I want to be able to make my own character not pick one of a line. I get that there will be skills to assign and what not, but it is nice to be able to have some look choices etc.

I'll just go ahead and answer the OP questions then:

    "is it just a MOBA?"

    No, it's not.

"I'm going to play an MMORPG  I want to be able to make my own character character, not pick one of a line."

You will be able to do this in Crowfall.  You character will be fully customizable - looks, gear, skills, etc.

And since someone else above said "if it has premade characters..."

    Crowfall has no premade characters.

(Although i suppose one day they may go down the road that other MMORPGs have gone down and sell some premade characters in the shop or somesuch, but nothing about this has been even hinted, so for the time being, you just have regular,"non-premade" MMORPG characters  - you pick your class, customize appearance, level them up, choose skills, get them gear, upgrade skills, upgrade gear, etc. - basically same general idea as any other MMORPG.)

Seriously where is the plausible logic?I know we all go to bed every night and wake up rocket scientist,so ya it's plausible i guess.pffft.

I love offline skill system a la EvE. That or UO/Darkfall Online skill systems are my favourite.

As for your rationalising attempt, why do you even try in a fantasy game? In my decades long experience it works great for long term mmorpgs.

You can find a couple more details on character customization in new update.

Plausible logic makes perfect sense actually:  Your character doesn't improve at skills by sleep in Crowfall.  It improves at skills by training at them.   You know, like if you spend 30 hours training at kicking someone in the face, you'd probably get somewhat better at that.  When you assign your character to train their "face-kicking" skill, that is what they do while you're offline.  As opposed to sleeping.   If you assign them to do nothing while they're offline, they will not get skills, just like in your example with sleeping.
