I was thinking of reinstalling and trying it, but cant find the official download link? Any help?

    Even though it says free trial...Just download the game, and when you're done, it'll ask for you to log in using your already made account or create a new one.

    ok then try this....thats the OFFICIAL site. Click on the "Start your free trial" link...

    Which will take you to the link i already told you to go to. And then just follow the steps from my previous post.

    No that is the Free account link and it not a fake url.  However there is another location you can download the game from http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/

     

    Both work.

    You may need to have an active account to download/update the game. I know that I wasn't able to update the game when my account was inactive because you have to log in to begin the download process.

    I do that but then when I login using my existing account it says I need to make a new account to have access to the trial. All I want to do is install the game so I can play it using my old account I made back in 2013... I purchased the game but I don't have the disk anymore, seriously hoping I don't have to purchase a new hard copy.

    Something likely went wrong when you cancelled way back.  They put a cancel the account button next to the cancel subscription at one point, and many people actually trashed their entire account that way.  If this is the case, you will have to contact with them, as they're aware of the problem and have fixed it for many.

    Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

    Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

    No its their registration process that is linked to their old SE account management application.  Mog Station itself is not an issue.  Their old Account Management Application is Junk and maybe going away soon.

    Best and easiest method is going to STEAM and then download the game through there, just click on DOWNLOAD DEMO.

    It will fully install the game on your pc, then you can use the installation to login with your regular account, steam or non-steam.

    Hey I want to complain too! :) My kids talked me into subscribing again. I paid the $14.99 and tried to create a character on their server so I could join them. I was told the server (Gilgamesh) was full and to try later. This kind of ticked me off but I tried again later for about 3 days and gave up. Why doesn't the system allow players to create their characters and if the server is full you can get in a queue? I did email for a refund but got no reply back. Anyway, that was my complaint and I feel much better now that I got it off my chest!

    There is a banner right on this website that says to download the game now and gives you the link (it is on the bottom of the page).

    I am on Gilgamesh and made a new character about a month ago on the server. I think I got on the server in the morning EST, that is when the server is quiet.

    The core problem that some worlds have is the large population so instead of risking server performance issues they lock the servers.  You can do one of many choices

    A) you can create a character real early in the morning

    B) You can create a character with them on another server and level with your kids

    C) Start on another server and transfer your kids characters there

     

    Gilgamesh is a very popular server so you are going to have issues that you are facing.
