WTF? Voice Chat!

I wanted voice IN-GAME voice chat.   Consoles get voice chat, why dont PC?   Worst hassle in the world is getting a pick up group and not being able to talk to them to organize.   How come they dont add it to PC, this is one my biggest annoyances about PC games versus console games.

    It's a PuG... they're not going to talk to you or listen to you anyways.

    The console version isn't even out yet so how can you possibly know that it has voice chat? as for there not being voice chat on PC, i think you will find that guilds etc, certain types of guilds at least, will advertise their own TS3/Mumble voice servers, which is a far better option than anything you will find on any of the consoles.image

    Console voice chat is integrated into the system.  That's why you get it.  With PC, it is not.  You need to use a 3rd party chat service, but you really only get the benefit with a guild, not a PUG.  I think it will get more common, but we aren't there yet.

    Just because it isn't in game yet doesn't mean it won't eventually. It is a pipeline of data not so easily slapped on top of a large mmo without massive optimization. I imagine project management prioritized development on key systems far more important the voice (because you may have heard of the MANY voice apps already available).

    Ingame voice chat had a huge influence on the quality of the Lotro community.

    I hope Zenimax realise how much it would help this game.

    Favourite games have included: UO, Lineage2, Darkfall, Lotro, Baldur's Gate, SSX, FF7 and yes the original Wizardry on an Apple IIe

    The voice chat probably isnt handled by the game client itself, but by the PSN and XBL systems and integrated into the game UI.
