I tried, and tried again, then again. This will probably be the last try.

Your right skills don't meld together because they are mostly bugged most skills don't work as intended.

Devs already mentioned that most skills on templar are bugged and being looked at.

I applaud Zenimax for being willing to give the beta testers like myself another shot.  I really don't want to bash the game but for me I can't put my finger on it but still no real difference from the feeling I got from when I first tried it.  Meh.

Sorry to all that love this game.  For you it still is a great game for me it just lacks something and again I don't want to bash it enough to go into large detail of what it might be.

It may port over better than being a PC game and I may try that idk but even as B2P for the PC...I will PASS

This should have been a single player game

My only regret is quitting in the first place. The game was good before and now it is great.

I have not played an MMO in long time where I can just get lost in exploration and playing the meta game. I lose hours of my time without even questing or raiding or anything like that. I love it, the immersion factor for an MMO is second to none. The best AI I have seen in an MMO and the minimalist UI only add to the immersion.

The justice system is awesome, just like in Skyrim, I waste hours just stealing and killing NPCs and running from guards. When they add player bounty hunting to it...it's going to be even better.

    But that's just my opinion.

i played ESO since the 1st day, and played for a year and a half, was good back then, but boredom took it's place, quit and went back to GW2

i tried to play again 2 days ago, with many of my Mod messed up, spent almost 2 hours re setting everything from zero, and went to Cryodil for 1 hour, and then quest a bit.. and that's it, i got bored again, i just can't do it. it's still 80% the same as the old one, except some of the new system, the crafting are still so boring and the most fun thing in ESO is just the 3 zone questing and Cyrodil, the rest is just repetitive

    So What Now?

    i don't see much difference.

I have a high ranking vet but decided to roll a new toon - got up near level 50 and realized it all feels the same as before. Game is pretty repetitive - gets boring. I find I can't play for more than about 30 min in a session before I lose interest.

Been playing for a few days now. It's definitely not worth the sub, but as a B2P it's a good deal. The game is enjoyable as far as I'm concerned, just not enough to justify the sub they used to charge.

I am back. I beta'd and never came back after launch.

I am liking the game enough to buy it to play.  But seriously..I am in desperate times.  I am just so MMO'd out and can't find any replacement,  I tried getting back into SWTOR and it was ok early on but the combat was so clunky, imho( especially after coming off games like TSW and MarvelHeroes( which I still kick around)

so when this B2P came up, well,..I jumped on board..

my only complaint,..and it was my biggie back in beta, is that Duo'ing/grouping can be a nightmare keeping in 'synch' with your friend.  All the phasing is drives us nuts, it's hard to find any quests we can help each other on.

other than that,..so far so good,...this shold hold me over for awhile.

5 Hotbars suck... no build diversity but endless skills

i wish i would get my money back to be honest

When you have more Action Bars/Skills available you can change your gameplay on the fly in reaction to a fluid situation. Maybe you got some Adds and need some AoE, and then figured there was too much so needed some CC...  Maybe you need a quick heal?  It's all available, but you don't use it all at one time and you don't use it all in all situations.  You have to make a choice...  Using that AoE on a single target and not killing it fast enough... that could cost you!

Part of the enjoyment (i.e. FUN) in learning how to play those other games is knowing how to adapt to a fluid situation and use completely different skills to deal with it - not sitting there scrubbing along because you don't have the right skills on your extremely limited hot bars.  How to do it well.  How to think on the fly and react to changing situations.  If you think about it, that's the whole concept behind the raids in games like WoW, EQ, EQ2, and others.

Some of these newer games got the idea, but the way they limit skills (GW2 is another offender) completely counters it and drains the depth out of the game play..  The Forced Weapon Swapping is *not* a bonus, either.

Bumping it down to 5 Skills across 2 Weapons with Forced Weapon Swapping is just dumbing it down and giving you a ton less to think about, and a ton less flexibility when dealing with situations.  It actually encourages Build Metas and "Template Setups" more, because everyone is trying to make the most of an extremely limiting set of tool slots available to the character in game.  It also means you can run up against situations where your build is totally inviable, and the game forces you into downtime to change it, which is also undesirable (WoW does this with Talents/Specializations).

Plus, these action combat systems are all sort of overrated and auto-attack heavy in my experience.

Just cant agree, rotating a dot, a big nuke with long cool down, a mid damage/cooldown nuke, a quick nuke and a 'filler' tab to the next mob, whilst you watch TV is not any more 'skillful'. Those 30 skill games have so much overlap and redundancy. picking a few skills from a large pallet and knowing how they synergise and when to use them is more skillful imho. Personally Im not sure I could go back to the stand on the spot tab and rotate till dead games except maybe for nostalgia (like typing 'hit troll' in a mud).

Chess has 6 pieces (analogous to skills) more does not necessarily mean better or more skill.

What even is "rotation?" I had a one-key macro that one-shotted everybody. I could play WoW while playing another game and still win.

In ESO, you gotta work for a win.

Came back shortly before Update 6. A huge improvement with new combat animations, Justice System, Champion System and even noticed new AI behavior.

Been enjoying Craglorn and veteran dungeon runs with the guild.

Same here, I have just moved on from  these types of games now. Good luck to those who enjoy it though.image

I'M waiting for Rebel Galaxy to come out. TESO was the last straw for me with mmo's. And i really really hate the console feel of the game.

I hated the skill system and the shitt, clunky, floaty animations (still there after the update btw).  The skill system is a joke, you are "free" to make a magika build.  Stamina build?  Better not be planning to dodge EVER.
  • RasiemRasiem Member UncommonPosts: 318
I was much like most, I played at release got to like v2 then quit. But after returning yesterday I am really enjoying myself because im playing it differently then I have other mmos by going back and doing quests I missed to level up different skill trees so I can change my build. If you want to rush through and play this game like most other mmos you wont enjoy all the aspects of the game the story telling is truly remarkable. And I really like the way they added the guild sellers outside of town so other people can buy from your guild store its a pretty cool idea there really doing new things with this game that are implemented nice and solid and thats what I look for. Im pretty excited to see how there going to implement the housing system they said its going to take time because they want it to be good and serve a purpose hopefully its something like AA's system I really enjoyed that.

I tried again, just can't do it. I hate the combat, the colors in the world are bland, I'm tired of story driven mmos. Its the same generic nonsense over and over that benefits the player in no way.

When is someone going to let the player create their own stories? How hard is it to remake ultima online with an excellent team, graphics engine, and small elements in place to reduce grief play?

This game just has nothing, its just feels super annoying at all times

The combat is Meh problem is there were not enough options. Elemental Fire something or another, most builds are mana based. Too Dependent on racials too many land locks for Elder Scrolls to me. I think the Factions system is not only not in line with the lore its make the game more boring because there is less conflict, then they allow you for a fee to Break the lore and play a race on any faction, I think thats lame myself.

Then Cyrodiil, a bunch vampires .. vampires vampires vampires.

Some classic Elder scrolls builds are not possible not enough flexibility skills are too hardline mana or stam dependent. Weapon skills dont scale correctly and are very uninteresting. Real melee mages are not possible. Alteration, mysticism, Illusion are sorely missed. Theres not any real spell crafting or options because if there were I would happily turn my mage staff into something more utility friendly (useful). What really pissed me off is I cant be two things most of my ESO characters are, evil and pragmatic. Plus I friggin hate the 3 false gods, my characters worship Azura thank you very much.

We just need a Daggerfall mod, maybe we can clone it with neverwinter nights, couldnt be less interesting.

Completely agree. I tried coming back too. Gave it a solid few weeks of play (far more latitude than I give most games) but it was still just .... bland. I'm sure if it didn't have the Elder Scrolls name attached to it, it would have shut down by now.
