I just tried the subscribe link and it took me to the subscription page. You may have to create an account and log in first to get it to work. The game is still in development, and the sub option will allow you access to participate on the forums for the time being.

So you can "sub" to use their forums? Sounds legit lol.

Its more legit than a kickstarter if you think about it. At least this way we are getting input on what and how they are designing the game. Kickstarter means you are just giving them free money in hope that they will do what you want with it.

Yet another example of amazing professionalism from these people.
A 404 error is bad, suggesting the 'work around' of creating an account and then trying again as if it is the potential customers fault that this information was not provided by the site instead of a 404 error is pretty dumb.

Not sure what you are trying to pin on them, but I don't represent VRI in any capacity. Yes, their site is in serious need of an overhaul and some fixes, its one of the things they are working on getting done right now. They recently changed the way the site works and removed the store in direct response to popular opinions in the community.
Either way, I believe I gave him the solution to the problem, and in no way insinuated that the problem was his fault.
Totally not your fault! The page is a bit broken, though right now resources are tight and they are working on recreating the entire webpage. Until then you have to create an account before you can subscribe. If you don't want to do that right yet, I would advise to wait a bit until a new webpage is developed and put out to the public.
Hope to see you in the forums sooner than later either way!

I am sorry that this happened Archaegeo, the site is difficult to work with as it was not setup properly when it was originally brought online, we are working hard on correcting a lot of those issues and I have a team member working on these 404 and 403 errors, so hopefully we can get it sorted out asap.
As Dullahan kindly suggested, there is a temp work around that allows you to see the page and interact with it and that just requires an account creation and to be logged in, that should hopefully fix any issues you are having mate.
We have a new Official site in the works that is being set-up properly from scratch, so hopefully I can announce that to everyone in the not too distant future but for the meantime we will continue trying to fix the current developer site to make it as easy to use for you all as possible.
Please feel free to put in a support ticket if the problem persists and we will do whatever we can to help you.

It is quite legit and setup for a reason since it is a development site and not your average game forums, thanks for your feedback.

I was having the same 404 errors trying to "create an account." I had to jump through a few hoops (I think I wound up doing a web search for Pantheon and subscribe) to figure out how to get to a page that would let me contribute/subscribe/create an account. As related note, it wasn't particularly obvious to me that subscribe was synonymous with contributing to the game, creating an account, and having access to the forums. If and when you bring out a new web site you might want to consider something on the front page a bit more obvious than a "subscribe" menu item. For example, on the current page I would consider something near "newest members" that says "want full access to the site, contribute to the game, become a member, subscribe now"

That is a good suggestion Kayyd, I will keep that in mind for the new site, thanks

Don't invest too much into the current page.
To be perfectly honest: it does look unprofessional. A LOT. Scrap it and put up a page that looks like you have code monkeys in your team that people can trust in. I know webdesign and game design are differend, but your average gamer does not understand that, or cares for that matter.
To be even more honest,...
.. i have not told any friends to check out Pantheon, because of your web presence. If they see that, they would close the tab and laugh at me. They are all professional coder, for web, games, software... and they all share one big habbit: Bashing teams that are over their head and want money. You make a perfect target for that right now. So hurry up and do a solid page. I want to get my friends into Pantheon. Some of em would definitly spend 4 digit bucks on a EQ successor.
MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.
Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?

We will be scrapping it mate, we just need to get the new website up, running and developed properly then we will either wipe the current site or cut it right back to a few sub forums for Alpha/Beta and Dev chat with Class Leads etc. We haven't decided yet.
This will take place over the next few months but it is fairly high on our list of priorities at the moment because we want a professional look and feel as we move forward with such good progress with our game which is attracting many new followers.

Will definitly do some big "marketing" for you guys once the web presence is solid :-)
