nah he used it in some obscure video blog that was linked. But like I said at that point it surely didnt have the same meaning then as it does now. I suspect he figured they might raise 3 or 4 million in his wildest dreams, release something and THEN get the type of money theyre boasting now.
Thats the irony and one of the other points I made, these guys bragging about how much this game shows in money gathered is the main reason nothing has been released yet and isnt really something to brag about.

There has to be SOME monitoring to the FREE publicity this game gets here that is generally disseminated with glaring inaccuracies if not outright lies.
While we (critics) have our negative viewpoints they arent always given as factual. The whole 64 bit back and forth in the other thread showed with out a doubt what I said was accurate and what the PR guy said was completely false. Also showed he really didnt know what the hell he was talking about in that case either.
I havent said much about it until recently when these exaggerations started up again. But youre right there really isnt anything new going on, but every chance the PR guy gets to hype something inconsequential and try to pass it off as some great coup some sort of accountability should be had.

If you took that 'alpha' and put it in a vacuum and told people it was the Star Citizen alpha, a game that has had 110+ million dollars raised, 4.5+ years of development, made by a multi national entity with as many as 300 employees and was hyped as eventually becoming a genre changing project...they would laugh in your face.
I suspect most of the backers wouldnt believe you if you told them this was the SC alpha. They accept it now because it sort of sunk in. But if this was 'back in the old days' of 'leaked' NDA footage and 'early' alpha testing most of these guys would look at it and claim it was a hoax.
But because they know its not a hoax and it is exactly what it is then they have to rationalize it somehow.
But anyone who think what is available now is acceptable has a screw loose. But because they cant bring themselves to cope with reality they just go with the flow.

It's wrong to generalise because from my experience all of the people that I've talked and showed parts of Star Citizen have been interested and regularly ask me about it such is their interest that I've gathered enough recruits to earn me a fleet of ship's to play without spending a dime more.

ships are a little like Russian military hardware: rugged, functional but
doesn’t necessarily have all the extras (like ejection seats) in order to offer
better value elsewhere (like bigger guns). While an ejection seat might allow
you to potentially escape, “Death of a Spaceman” means that even if you are
blown up with your ship you are instantly dead: you wake up in a med bay after
being patched up. However you can only do this a number of times before you old
character passes away and you have to move on to a new one. So Drake ships are
more risky but if you are aware of that you should still be able to get out and
EVA away.

Will there be an event planned for Gamescom?
A: Due to
venue issues we won’t be doing the same “Big presentation” like we’ve done in
the past couple years, but instead we’ll have a booth on the show floor showing
off new stuff coming up for the game and having a playable build of the current

the last couple years where it’s meet and greet for the fans with developers
and such.

the next stages is to put in security systems which partly come with item 2.0
stuff. With that is other levels of boarding mechanics to hack or blow open a

also involve notification to your Mobiglass within a reasonable amount of
distance if you were, say EVAing somewhere else.

cargo, mining and economy mechanics from being implemented in PU/PTU builds?
