Sorry but if you truly played as many games as you claim, you'd know summoners war is a poor cash shop imitation of better games in that genre.
If there are better games in the genre, Im EXTREMELY interested in trying them out.
Name a better one, and no one will be more happy than me if you are correct.
But it's hard to beat games like summoners war and diablo, where the excellent random drop system always give you the incentive to do just one more run, coz that perfect rune with the perfect stats for that particular build will drop.
To link the equipment in chat and everyone goes WOOOOOOOOOOOH!!! and GRATS! on the drop, and weeks after you are still known as "that player that got that rune with 42% hp from substats" and now has a 50k hp Light Darion that one-shots any arena defense monster. You are the only one in the game to own one like this. One in 30 million.
Originally posted by Moirae I won't play a game on my phone, at least not an mmo. Its fine for little things to pass the time while I'm waiting for something, but its too small to draw me in.
Me too. I have never played a MMO on my phone. It will take up too much time. I perfer some casual mobile games.
Originally posted by Ciccero I like the game. More than most of the crap out to be honest. The game is one long level grind, posting that up front. You level your 3* to 4*, 4* to 5*, 5* to 6* just to complete dungeons to get better runes, to fight in the arena or guild battles. It's pretty simple and a HUGE time sink on the back end with minimal time invested on a day to day basis. I now have 9 6* and am progressing in the Arena ranks around 1600-1700. Sadly, nowhere near the 3200-3500 top tier It is a simple game, but I like it.
The frustration end starts when you need X monster to fuse with another 3 to create a specific 4 star who then requires itself, leveled up to 5 star and awakened, with 3 other monsters under the same criteria, to obtain a 5* ....Then there are the scrolls to summon random monsters. The game puts you in a place to poke your own eyes out. The daily "Roulette" wheel is rigged to hell and back, whith no randomness to it, regardless of what it wants kids to think.
The game DOES need work, imo You progress your monsters to a point where you can do specific dungeons in an area called Cairos. The ISSUE is your chances of getting specific power up material do not increase, regardless of what people will swear by, from level 4 to level 10...and that's a bit silly. The game FORCES new players to go outside of it for data, info, help or end up feeding "down the road" critical monsters to early game fun, but mid and up waste, monsters and they need a better UI for addressing player questions IN-GAME. The chatting format is pure crap. I do not know about the rest of you, but I am not your typical gaming nerd. I am 6'4 240lbs and have hands like boxing gloves and trying to type on my phone is like trying to play a game of operation when drunk. I suppose I should get a tablet...then again, I do mirror the game to my desktop from time to time...WHICH, is a violation of the TOS if you use certain apps to do that There is no personal messaging option, which, IMO, is a MUST, for a RPG/PVP that boasts 40 million downloads. Guilds and build battles....that is the most frustrating of all. Your guild should TRY to war 2-3 times a day. That means you have to get 10-25 people ON to play for 15 minutes, 3 times a day, spanning time frames from Atlanta EST time to Moscow UTC +3. So you end up with people who can fight 1 time a day, due to the start times and others whom fight both or if you are ranked over 1100, 3 times a day, screaming about the 1 time players
The game's logistical issues are player based, overall. A like-minded WOW guild would do well in the game.
The other coin involved is premium packs and paying to play. Paying to play only speeds the game up for a short time. You buy crystals to get more scrolls, to summon more monsters and GAMBLE for a natural 4 or 5 star monster...to then start the whole cycle of level, awaken, farm runes, to fight....
I can see where the appeal of this game is PRIMARILY Asian. It fits the model for Asian play styles. In that, a lot of non-Asians are going to see it as a waste of time.
Me, not sure why, but I do like it. I see no issue with recommending the game to others as LONG as you fully arm the person you are speaking with. You cannot toss a hardcore gamer into the game and expect him to love it. It is going to be based on THEIR idea of risk/reward and goals rather than what the game offers.
I hope this helps more than the OPs post.
BTW, I post MAYBE 1 time a year, if at all Do not hold it against me. I use the site for data, not chit chat. I have been a member here for 10 years and the site has steered me towards many games. I even have a Plushie....fish thingy that I won as part of the Big Fish games promotion years back No shill, jsut sitting here, waiting for the next Angelmon dungeon and figured I would look and see just how mainstream gamers spoke of the game and discovered this thread.
Have a good weekend

Can people stop referring to "hardcore gaming" under the context of wasting endless time doing repetitive tasks that exist largely as a means to artificially extend the gameplay or incentivize some alternative means such as pay. There is nothing hardcore about such a circumstance.

A friend of mine likes it, and I saw advertisements for it at Gamescom too.
Seems to be a pretty big title to afford that. Never played it myself though.

Sorry man, already played the game months ago. Both my girl and I had played it and we'd summon each other's rare monsters to see if we'd get anything dope. That was actually the last straw to keep us breathing through. it's in depth for a mobile game, but after 3-4 weeks in, it becomes repetitive.

There's really only a couple meanings for hardcore that I'm aware of when it comes to games. Either it's spending copious amounts of time in a game or it's perma death. I'm not sure what else you think it means.

I'd interpret as an indication of devotion or skill more then time spent or rules of the game itself.

I like to think a hardcore gamer as someone who:
Prefers to play games that have depth and complexity

As the first person in the thread, you said thanks. I withdraw my nasty comment and instead send you my love and respect.

That's pretty much what I thought. and I thought I rarely posted on these forums. He surely beat me!
But yeah, more power to you finding a game you really enjoy which also seems to have mobility. But it doesn't interest me.

Thank you, I would have never tried it if not for this post. I have not spent a cent and I am enjoying the game a lot.
You can play on your PC with an app(Mobizen) if you like, but tablets are great for this game.
To be fair, almost every post that mentions a game title can/could be considered shilling for said title.
