I am not sure there is any room left on the page for more ads

Ads pay the bills and Bill, so you got any better idea's for money?

Maybe taking bribes for good reviews :D

They probably already get paid for favourable reviews. EA for example has a program where reviewers are paid to say certain things about their games up until just before release when they are finally allowed to say whatever they want.

I don't think they do, i've seen some of the 'paid' reviews on other websites, and they are far less critical and far more.. complementary.

As for better ideas for money, well, one might be that in order to post on this website, people need to subscribe, paid subscription that is, $5 a month maybe? it would probably get rid of all those dodgy advertisements, not to mention people who create multiple accounts for added veracity image

It's funny how most websites reduced the space for actual content to about 10%, and have 10% left for the navigation and 80% for ads. Without ad blockers you are basically screwed.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

Do you mean variety or quantity?  The number of ads per page hasn't changed in over a year. Most of their ads are supplied by advertising aggregaters like google syndicate.  MMORPG.com has said that except for the main page ad they have no direct control over what ads appear. They do give the aggregaters instructions and direction about the types of ads and their layout.

Mostly I was referring to the additional banner adds on the already annoying & retrograde mobile site that were added recently. Like within the last week. But there are also ads placed in certain featured "articles" that as long as you were signed in did not appear but do now.

Maybe they're trying to squeeze as much revenue from this antiquated site before the new one drops?

Either way, it's sad to see advertising take the place of content. It ruins the immersion of the site image.

I think you'll be happy with the new site. Same amount, but less intrusive. :)

    Soon™ ?

I'll speculate that means within the next 6 months. :)

    Thanks for the info, Bill.
