A second chance for......

sumdumguy1sumdumguy1 Member RarePosts: 1,373

Over the last 6 years, I have tried many games, but I have only played a handful of games for more than week during this time.  I basically have gone back and forth between them.  They are TSW, GW1 and 2, Final Fantasy 14, and Diablo 3.  I did play Dragon Age Inquisition for a month when it came out.  Other than that, nothing has kept my interest.  I have tried all the big one and been disappointed through and through.  I have decided to go back a give a select few games a second chance.  I started last weekend.  Will you give games another chance, if so which ones??

Last weekend I started with  ESO.  Rolled a new character as I already had a max level.  Got sick on my new toon in two days, went back to my max character and after one full day and a few hours got sick of it as well.  Simply put, ESO is not a game I will enjoy.  This weekend, I downloaded SWTOR and rolled a new toon.  Its too early to tell yet, but one thing I am noticing, I am having a decent time with it.  The real question for me is will I feel the same way in a week?  How do you determine if you like games or can handle going back to a game?

Ok..serious question, but do you have ADD? A week is nowhere near enough time to determine if a game is wirth the playtime. At least with an MMORPG. Most of the meat of such games is deeper in the content...sadly. As far as single player games, the same holds true to a degree. I have several games that started off skuggish...but the longer I played and the stories and action unfolded, they got real good.

Currently playing Mars War Story and it started the same. But thrthe longer I am playing..it's getting more interesting.

Take a break and go back later and give them more time to develop.

Play it for 15 min .. if it is fun, i continue. If not, i do something else. It is quite simple.

And who cares if i feel the same way in a week. If so, i will play the game again. If not, i will be doing something else. There is never a lack of entertainment.

I do not believe in second chances.  But I do not need to.  I play my games based on my mood to play them.  I also leave games with that same view.  Since my  online beginnings here are the games I have played.  As well as a general guess as to how many times I have played them in a 2-3 month interval.

Everquest- Since 1999 at least 10 times for 2-3 month intervals.

Dark Age of Camelot-  At least 15 times with a 2-3 month interval.  Currently active!

World of Warcraft-  At least 6 times

Pirate101- 4 times so far. Almost in the mood for it again.

EVE-persistant 15 times plus since the beginning. A month off here and there.  Currently active!

    Everquest 2-  5 times

    Vanguard- 4 times

Perpetuum- 4 times but will go back.

Hearthstone-4 times and will continue to go back.

This does not count the MOBAS, SRPG, Strategy games, or FPS..   As a gamer there really is no such thing as second chance.  As I play based on what I want to play at the time.  From my point of view the question asked is nonsense.  As most people will play what they want when they want to play it.

    Good Gaming!
