What I mean is...what happened to games like FFXI? Why is everything dumbed down for the simple player? I miss these types of games that require time, commitment and knowing your role. It was extremely satisfying to have finally unlocked dragoon in ff11 after hours upon hours of gameplay. I understand that a lot of people want to just get on for an hour or two and did a quick instance or two...but what about those of us who are looking for that sense of achievement (from something that doesn't come as easy).
Are there any populated games like this anymore?

Eve would be the obvious one. Maybe uncharted waters at a pinch. Also some of the old ones are still around in various conditions.
Does it also have to be any good? As there seem to be some ffa, full loot gankfests that a full of bugs and the opposite for content that get released every now and then.
Made me laugh so hard, kudos.

P99? Everquest, right?
and yep. There's a few indie/non indie games out there. Like reign of kings, h1z1, etc. i feel like they can be fun for only so long. I need a persistent character in my game that I spend time on and not lose my things within potentially the first hour or the 52nd hour. Progression is huge for me.

Yeah. I'm currently playing FFXIV which is okay. I have two 50s but the combat is meh.
PS, Strawhat...look at the game GRAV. (Read your profile quote lol)
