I got tired of Wow and used a hack for it in battlegrounds. Went full blatant for about a week before getting banned. It's like getting cheats for a single player game after you know you're done with it for good. What I don't like is the people who do it all the time on a regular basis because they get the satisfaction of victory even though they're no the ones doing it. It's rather unfortunate.
no. Things like that take the enjoyment out of it for me. I also don't subscribe to the idea that because there is a bug in the game, that if you use it, it isn't cheating, since you are only doing what the game allows.
People will explain away all kinds of reasons why they are cheating, but you know if you are or aren't. Just admit it. If you are willing to do it in game, be willing to say so. Once again a sign that you know you are cheating, if you can't say it on ... say.... a forum.
Most players have an astonishingly complex definition of what a cheat is. I am a purist and think cheats are an abomination, but if in a guild will I ask others to hold back because of that? No.
It is like in PS2 when a kid who was so clearly under age came on and was squeaking away. In a way he was cheating as I think he was about 9 years old. But would you have the heart to report a kid like that who was as well behaved as people four times his age? But if it was excessive use of bots you have to speak to them, because it reflects poorly on the guild.
In my younger days I used to cheat a ton. I would buy tons of gold and sell tons of gold through RMT sites. In some games I actually made a tidy profit. I've never been banned for doing these things.
I was obsessed with FFXI back in the day, and would use a claim hack, so nobody else would be able to claim HNM's, Kings. You know I never did get caught using that thing...lol
But I haven't cheated in years though. I don't take MMO's all that seriously any more.
Sadly I have to admit that I did in Lineage II. Coming from a private server with pretty high rates, I kinda had a problem getting money to buy myself a C-grade armor set at the time. Instead of doing quests and grind for it I took the easy way and ebuyed it. That was once and never again though...

I self identify as a monkey.

No I've never cheated in an MMO and I'm strongly against it.
I'm of the opinion that anything in game is fair game. So in my eyes, no. But I am sure everyone here would probably consider me a cheater.
