Winning Putt Experience {Korea}

I have been playing winning putt since the open beta.  I do not speak korean so it was somewhat difficult at first, but I think that I have most things figured out.

You have 2 choices at character creation.  You can either pick a power player or a accurate player.  I made one of each and do not see much benefit of using the accuracy player.  Bad swings seem to result in the same travel, and I do

not see any size increase on the impact zone.  Your character has both a stamina bar and a "finese" bar.  Every swing uses a bit of each, but special skills use much more.  Also bad swings or hitting into rough or sand use more of each

bar.  For example I think I have around 180 stamina.  If there is a long hole I would hit a power drive which let me hit my driver 103%.  My stam goes down to around 80 (if I hit the fairway).  If I hit another power shot with a 3w my

stam is down to 40.  If I make a birdie on the hole my bars will almost fully recover, but if I score bad it will take me 2-3 holes to recover my bars.  If your stamina gets to less than 10% of your total you can only hit shots at 80-

90%.  The same concept applies to the finese bar except once your finese bar gets below 10% your swing meter is FAST making it near impossible to stop it in time for a short put.  They do sell stamina and mana potions, but I think you

can only carry 3 of each at a time.  Basically the whole point is you need to pick and choose when to use special shots.  You cant just be hitting power or spin shots every approach.

Each course has various difficulty / tee settings.  On the easiest tees you have an overhead camera you can zoom in on that shows you landing area, yardage, a flag on your meter, and on putts it has a flag on your meter showing how hard

to hit it to reach the hole.  As you move back on the tees you start to lose some aids.  You lose your flag on the putt meter and chips first.  So you have to know how hard to hit chips and putts.  On the back tees you have no overhead

zoom, and no yardages.  You have to use the mini-map to aim. The worst part of the back tees is the hole itself is much smaller.  I would say its about 3x smaller on the back tees.  Makes putting extremely frustrating.  One good thing is if you move your pointer around on the mini-map it tells you how far away from your golfer you are.  So as long as you know how far your clubs go you can

have a rough idea of the yards to the hole, fairway, or to layup.  The first time I played on the back I had no idea that would happen and was totally clueless....

When you level up there are various stats you can choose to level.  They are power, accuracy, rough shot, sand shot, more stamina, or more mana.  The more you increase one the more it costs for the next level.  They are pretty pricey as

well.  There are also several skills which you unlock.  Unfortunately I have not found much use for a lot of them.  You can slot 3 power skills and 3 "finese" skills.  I use one that increase my driver meter to 103%, there is another

power shot that just adds like 2-3 yards for all clubs, then I use a "stinger" shot.  I am not sure what it does exactly I just know that it starts out low, rises quickly and stops alot quicker than a regular shot.  For finese shots I

use one for my wedges that basically stops the ball dead, one for chipping which cuts the roll way down, then i think I have a high shot slotted, but rarely use it.  There are other shots that I have tried and could not figure out what

they were supposed to do and have not taken the time to translate them yet.  These do not cost anything to slot.

As far as the game itself, the ball physics seem good, aiming is tough, and if you dont hit a perfect swing it is punishing especially from rough or sand.  Sand shots are really difficult in general you are lucky if you can get the ball out of a trap with anything but a SW.  100 yards out of a bunker is like the max distance with any club.  There is also heavy rough and lighter rough.  Light rough is not too bad, but you can use certain skills from it.  Heavy rough is pretty brutual.  Aiming is difficult for me and I am usually very good at golf games.  I was an upper player in Links and Shot Online.  As far as winning putt goes you have sidehill lies and up/downhill lies all of which effect the ball.  The wind is not extreme, but effects the ball enough to cause problems.  Putting is difficult.  Most games you can kinda ram it in the hole, but you can not get away with that in Winning Putt.  Your speed has to be pretty precise or it will rim out or skip over the hole.

There are seveal game modes all of your standards.  Stroke, alt shot, match play, best ball, and tournaments.  There is also a ranking system.  Once you hit level 20 you get to rank S if you pass a mission.  To increase your rank from there you have to play people 1 v 1 and win.

Scoring in the game ranges a lot.  I have a level 25 character and the highest I have seen is a level 30 and I have played with a couple 29s.  In tournaments usually the winners shoot around -15 which I do not see how yet.  On the back tees there are several holes that can not be reached.  There are probably 6-7 holes that you can not reach to birdie so you are shooting for par right off the bat. I have played many man 18 hole games with people and the best I have seen someone shoot is like -5 or -6 from the back.  Most of the time if anyone finishes under par then its an achievement.  If I come in at even par I am extremely happy.  Some courses my goal is to be better than +5 or +10.  My default drive is like 212 yards and alot of holes are 450 plus and my 3w only goes about 190.

You can fit your clubs.  My driver is +4 fitting which gave me about 4 yards.  I have less than 50% chance at a +5 but I hear the stats increase more significantly after +4.  I do not know if there are much higher level people running around or they have super juiced up clubs or what.  I would like to play with someone shooting those scores to see whats up.

There are rubies you can buy for real $, but as far as I can tell they just give your boosts.  You cant go out and buy super clubs or anything.  You can buy things like ball markers, golf bags (which you can carry 3 items instead of 2), caddies which give you more exp, balls, but most of those have a hole durability or time limit.  At the moment I do not see the game being pay to win like shot online.

After so many holes your get a "golden ball" basically on your screen you have a choice of 4 golden balls.  They hold anything from money to potions to clothes to clubs to bolts to fit your club.  Most of the things are not that great, but I have gotten decent money and some good clubs every so often.  There are also missions which are like quests which you receive exp and money along with items sometimes.  Right now there is a daily gm event where you have to complete 2 6 hole alt shot team games and you get a box with the next tier club.  For example I am level 25 right now and in the boxes I receive a level 30 club.  Level 30 clubs are not for sale by NPCs so this seems to be the only way to get them right now.  There are 2 NPCs that sell clubs.  One sells power clubs and the other one sells accuracy clubs.  In the GM event you have a choice of 4 different club kinds.  2 of them are the ones the NPC sells and the other 2 seem better in general.  Right now I am trying to collect my full set of level 30 clubs.  I am not sure if you can get duplicates from the boxes or not?

I think that is about it.  Any other questions let me know
