Caught this while I was playing. Has to just be lag, right? It's not possible to hack a game client on a console, right? Anyone know? The game's too new for this, at least on PS4, if it is a hack
It's not impossible to hack on consoles. It's just too risky. That's why we normaly don't see hackers around. You can look at Diablo 3 for example. D3 got an offline mod on ps4 so there are a lot of hackers on that game. ON the other side on a game like Bf4 or Cod it's hard to see any hackers around. This game is f2p so I don't know the consequences. Your psn account or directly your console can get banned so I don't know.
If it was just his grounded movement that was effected, then I would say lag was a possibility. However, seeing as he is magically manipulating the Z axis as well, I'd say that definitely looks like a cheat of some kind.
I'm an Overwatch participant on CS:GO so I have a pretty good eye for what is possible and what isn't in the realm of first person shooters. I've been playing these games since the inception of the genre. He also appeared to be clipping through objects, possibly going under the ground and then coming back out.

Rats. Was really hoping to get into the console version and not have to wonder if I died fair-and-square or by hax.
Console cheats make a real lag switch by installing a light switch onto an ethernet cable, the switch blocks and opens the connection on the fly to the router, this is how console lag wizard cheat to exploit the client on a console, but it could be a player from a far away location on a poor connection too with PS2. A way to tell is if they start to lag at certain moments of engagements from turning on their lag switch, you start to notice a pattern fighting them, and you'll moments of instant death when lag catching up and applies all the damage data to your client all at once. And they'll seem to have no issues killing others too. Get a couple engie and setup a spitfires, that help you time them down inside buildings.
