These are my favorite types of games. I'm looking to see if there are any out there I don't know of. I'll list the games I do know of, and if you know of one not on the list tell me a bit about it. If you are interested in something on the list ask me, and I'll tell you a bit about it.

    I never played much Shadowbane but wasn't that one of the features? It...can be played, in a manner of speaking.

    Also didn't play much Lineage 2 but don't they have castle sieges and control of castles?

    I believe it was a pretty central feature of Shadowbane but I'm also sure Shadowbane only exists on emulators these days, and I'm a lot more interested in games that still have a development team working on them.

    Did they actually implement sieges in Xsyon, and in PotBS can territory be controlled by players/guilds or just factions?

    Anarchy Online. I remember thinking that was an interesting game but it's pretty outdated now. I thought I saw screenshots of a huge graphical update at one point. What's the status on that?

    That was pretty much what I was going to say. Though the western servers for Lineage 1 were shut down a while ago. It's going very strong in the east.

    AO got a renderer upgrade within the last month or so.  Haven't seen it.  Response from players was mixed.  There was a thread here on MMORPG.com about it.

    I installed it and made a character last night. The graphics looked the same. Even more horri-bad than I remembered actually. But I didn't get the chance to crank them up as I had no time to play. Seriously hoping that  the reason it looks so bad is because the graphical improvements require you to up your settings.

    Darkfall Unholy Wars!  It's like Mortal Online with a much much better engine and combat. 

    Territorial customizable map, siegable player cities. Smaller village PvP hotspots for territory control. Naval combat and territorial control points. Economic buffs from conquest/territorial bonuses. 

     

    I've started a group that's going to start Darkfall from scratch with the new patch coming out. All of us have been absent from the game a bit, many haven't played at all, we're going to make a splash and have a good time with a completely fresh experience.
