I found the best part of the game was that it is somewhat of a surprise to me. I logged in last night for the first time and was very impressed! The combat is fun and engaging. The 'Destiny-like' instancing is fun and the rewards system is enticing. Upgrading my items was pretty cool and I cant wait to try out the crafting to see how that goes!
This brief stint with the game has made me do more research on it and in my daily check of MMORPG's articles, I stumbled on this one, what a coincidence!! lol
Anyway, chances are, I won't receive 1 of 20 free copies, but, I hope those twenty people enjoy the game as much as I have and don't 'poopoo' it after 5 min and uninstall.
Between the level of detail in the models and the robust skill system, I'd love to dig deep into this game and fall in love with the World they've created.
This game is wonderful, it allows to change your classes on the spot and to literally change the clothing appearance of your character at any time you would like. The graphics are amazing and it keeps your attention. None of the lock on and see who has the best set of gear. Worth the time !
What I like the most is the progress system in the character. The first reason is that I don't have to create lots of accounts in game, I just have to unlock the classes in the Atlas, it makes me put more effort on that one character, giving a emotional feeling for that specific character . The second reason is the prestige system, it makes things so much more smoother, I was seek of those level numbers in other MMOs. The third reason is the quest system, all NPCs are dubbed so I can understand Aelion's history. And of course the feeling that you are an immortal who has adepts and followers, it's just awesome !
In my opinion, the best part about Skyforge is the Classes/Combat system.
What I mean by that is that the 2 concepts meld together in an amazing way:
Classes are absolutely unique, reminiscent of MOBAs, where Damage Dealers are more than that, they embody concepts of battle. From the ninja-like Slayer vanishing in purple mists to Kinetics that control the very earth beneath you, to a new take on the classic Archer that combines arrows and traps in a comprehensive way. Tanks and support classes are even further apart, making for an amazing mix of possibilities.
Combat itself is fluent, engrossing and gives a sense of weight and satisfaction that you normally only find in console action games. Visually impressive, often times visceral, and ultimately amazingly fun! Just search on YouTube a video with a Necromancer Finisher, you'll very soon understand!
I hardly post here, in fact I'm usually a lurker, but this is a good chance to get in on a game I truly enjoy.
Where to start, I love the art style, it has fully voiced quests, and it is full of MANY dungeons with boss mechanics. This game is a breath of fresh air - especially with its combat system.
I wouldn't say it brings something completely new to the table, but combines different ideas in a masterful and enjoyable way. There are problems, yes, but only time will tell if this Russian made game will listen to the player base. Until then, give it a shot, it isn't a money grab, and it is definitely not pay to win - you have nothing to lose except a couple hours of fun =D
I really enjoy the artwork in this game. Not so much the characters as the other things, the landscape, mounts and locations. The art people did an amazing job.
"Sean (Murray) saying MP will be in the game is not remotely close to evidence that at the point of purchase people thought there was MP in the game." - SEANMCAD
Concept is a bit unique. It's not just about "saving the world" but also about building yourself up not as a hero (though that is an aspect), but as "brand" or deity.
