the reduction in xp for no sub is not that bad tbh, plenty of people as well.
I am sitting on my VR1 nightblade and keep thinking should I continue to play or wait for the changes to come that will give huge changes in xp earned, which will help my VR level grind no end...
Been trying to get into this but I get the same ol' mmo guild/group game play....LF guild.... get invite .....play solo still but with a guild tag ......if there is group play its only on a "have to" point of view most people that play mmos now do so solo most of the time....Do people play? Yes. Can you find groups of people to play with? No?maybe? I either have bad luck or mmos just are not mmos anymore but solo grind with the few group instances here and there. In any case if you find a active group that really play eso not just solo grind or "traders guild" please let me know.
Game is good, but if u make use of group finders in other mmo's you will not like this game. Group finder is not used which makes grouping a chore to say the least.

I am so glad this is one game i never tried and i came close a few times.
I hate when developers cannot see the problem with solo minded games, you create interest for a very short time then a large majority quit playing.I know a lot of talk surrounds end game already and has for awhile, sad such a young game is already entrenched in boring end game grinds. When you hit end game the rest of the game feels like a distant meaningless memory, that to me is not good game design.

Join a guild, or five. You can be in up to five on your account so join five.
There won't be a shortage of people and you won't be gimped by a lack of sub.
I play on PC though, not sure about the console versions, I hear their lack of text chat is a problem.
As for community niceness, it's by far the best community I've been a part of. Doesn't mean everyone is nice all the time but zone chats are rarely as problematic as, say, WoW or really any other MMO I have experienced in recent years.
Yeah man, you will have full chats all day, depending on the guild that is.
Usually it's good to join 1 PvP guild, 1 PvE guild, 2 trade guilds and then leave a slot open for maybe a smaller social guild or RP guild if you're into that thing.

Based of course, on things you've heard and assimilated through osmosis. Why try it when you already know everything there is to know about it? lol.
@OP: The conversion to Buy to Play has brought in a substantial number of new players and keeps doing so. It's well populated everywhere,
The community is very good - several cuts above your typical MMO.
The only current difference between paying a sub and not paying is the 10% XP bonus the subbers get (I've been playing it for more than a year and am not currently subbed) - and it wasn't a 10% reduction to non-subbers, it was a 10% bonus. A bonus that while you're leveling 1-50 actually "de-syncs" you with the zone since the XP per zone is still geared toward doing it without the bonus.
Later on, after 50, the XP requirements for advancement do get steeper and the bonus would be handy at that point,
