Ive been PC gaming for over a decade now and originally played consoles mainly the Final Fantasy Series. From there in 2007 I moved to WOW during TBC and loved it, but slowly watched it decay into the dross it has become. I quit in January finding way too streamlined, it feels like its on a rail road to end game now.
To that end I've just finished my shiney PC build with custom water loop and im now finding I have some time on my hands after spending a lot of time making the house nice and sorting AV stuff out. I'm looking for a MMO which has plenty of customisation options for the development of your character, looking forward to new levels to get new skills and talent points.
I liked the multitude of options that wow provided during WOTLK for a Rogue, with the usual things such as gems and enchants etc, but also the vast array of stat jungling I had to do to maintain Hit/Exp/Arm Pen caps whilst remaining below the Crit cap. On top of this I liked the old talent trees.
Over MMO's I have played:
Rift - Loved it, friends left I stayed for a while mainly PVP
SWTOR - Loved it, worked away for 3 months, came back and Deathstar was empty ...
TSW - Was ok but gets a but meh
Aion, - Didn't play the way I like
Tera - Ok but can't get into it enough to get through the grind
FF:ARR - Maxed 3 classes and just started progressing my quests to get into HS expansion, but the morons you get that leave the group when you get to a required trial or vote disband cause they cba to do it ... on top of this having to change my password on every other log in became tiresome because of "suspicious activity on my account".
Skyforge - I can't really get into it, it looks pretty but keeping the classes I wanna play behind bars sucks.
ESO - Got a 46 Rogue and just started again and got a 10 Sorc, again just feels a little meh after a while
Wildstar - Was enjoying it, but can't get into a guild that actually does stuff
GW2 - Enjoyed it, got to 50 (not long after release) and it seemed the only thing to do was to make a pretty dagger that offeres no better stats than normal epic weps ..
Archeage - Played early access, not quite sure on this one, may try again but all the P2W talks puts me off
Lord of the Rings - Just no
I'm currently playing Witcher 3, but that will end eventually ...
I'm looking for something along the lines of TBC wow and SWTOR before it was FTP/deserted with plenty of stat and talent customisation. There is probably other games I have tried that I have forgotten. At the moment I'm just looking forward to Black Desert, EQ:Next and I was proper excited for World of Darkness before they cancelled it!

Blade and Soul is F2p and live. Check http://playbns.com/

From what I read it's open world, it has a in-game shop that is not F2P. The EU/NA model will award people with ingame sorta points for how much you play. So they are bringing it Play to win and not Pay to win. The link I provided is a russian client with english text so I don't thin they will use the same model as NGSoft will later on this year.
Big download though! 17g including update! I am downing it right now.
Swtor isn't abandoned. Most servers are very healthy these days. (Unlike during the days leading up to the server merges)
If it was so abandoned it wouldn't be about to get a huge expansion, with an expensive new CGI movie.

I played on release, way before it FTP, im talking around Jan 2010, I think it was something to do with PVP, whilst I was away they released a patch that destroyed PVP.
I will give B & S a try tomorrow thanks
I've concluded that no MMORPG that exist today I'll be playing it in 2016 and that being said this is a good time to consume content from single players as well as do other activities. Also Blade & Soul coming in NA end of year, but the fact it comes to NA after so many years it just shows how truly producers cared about us, so it would be naïve to support such product.
Anyways, most already know all about that game based off playing like on some Russian servers and what not.
Ah, an OP class/spec got nerfed and people rage quit.
Standard MMO fair.
It still happens daily on just about every MMO out there.

Urgh yes, and another team trying to balance PVP and PVE. I don't know why they didn't just implement a 2nd set of talent trees or scale stats vs gear whenever you enter a PVP environment, or make them more powerful than PVE abilities (but only usuable against other players) and balance everything that way, basically just separate em, can't be any qq then. I think people also need to realise that there is pretty much an anti class for every class, or at least there is in my opinion
I don't see AoC on the list, if you skipped it so far, it could be a good pick, still looking great and a "shiney PC" () will easily handle it on maxxed out settings.
Since you tried TSW, you already have an account, it's only a download away.
Downloading AoC now, lets give it a go, thanks
You can play blade and soul now really ? I had no idea I go check thanks.
