Moderation Question

I'm sorry MMORPG but I have to call into question some of your moderation practices.

 

Maybe I'm completely wrong:

But it seems to me some threads get locked in quick order. Even if they're quite civil compared to other threads that are allowed to go on and on. Thread topic seems to have little to do with it as compared to other threads. 

 

One:  http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/436423/Derek-Smarts-Line-of-Defense-best-MMO-ever.html has been locked after only 4 post's and with no explanation from a moderator.

 

I have to ask:

 

Are some moderation decisions made for monetary reasons?

    So you're seriously wondering if moderation here is unprincipled and based on pay-outs to the mods? lol.

     

    I guess you're not destined to ever figure out the why's of forum bans and thread locks. To paraphrase Marshall McLuhan, the style IS the message.

    C'mon, you know better, the 1st three threads you highlighted were clearly explained by Amana (one of the best moderators here) why they were closed, for reasons that have been applied to many other games and threads.

    As for the on thread locked with no comment, there is one moderator that never comments why, which is annoying I agree, however it doesn't take a degree in linguistics to see the sarcasm in the OP which was likely going to continue into yet another bash DS thread, which as mentioned, they've had quite enough of here.

    Not right to accuse people of misdeeds btw when you have no proof of the same.

    Your thread that got locked gets locked everywhere all the time because it typically devolves into "you're an idiot. you deserved it" vs. "all mods everywhere are nazi hall monitors"... add to that it being yet another thread for the SC faithful to misdirect SC concerns to DS attacks and you have your reasons... no financial considerations required.
