Seeing as time locked servers are starting to pop up I was wondering if people would re-subscribe to play through the old classic and beyond versions of wow.
If you don't know what a time locked progressions server is its when they start the game over from the beginning on a new server and cast server wide votes at set time intervals to determine when new content gets added such as raids or expansions.

Going back and doing MC for the 10 year made my realize just how far WoW has come. Paladins spamming kings for hours, mages just doing decurse, it just doesn't seem fun in hindsight.
I had fun once, it was terrible.
wow on the other hand was my main mmo for the longest period of time, I have played all of vanilla, tbc and wotlk and I know almost everything, I have done every quest , every raid, have played every class.
I loved vanilla and tbc but when I played it it was brand new, it was something completely different to what I have played. Wow was the most immersive game I have ever played with incredible lore and I was a wc geek. So there were a lot of things going on for it. I was also in high school for the whole of vanilla and tbc and some of wotlk. I could do the insane raiding and pvpving but not anymore.
Also one big thing many people forget is that part of the wonder of a new world is the ideas and expectations where that world is going to go in the future. However this is completely lost on these progression servers.
Wow during vanilla and tbc was not special because of its raiding or slow progression. It was everything else that made it one of the best MMORPGS I have ever played and in my opinion the most memorable gaming experience.

edit: pretty cool that the poll answers show up in our posts now.
They can add classic WoW raids and pvp, i dont care about that. But open world pve is fine where it is today (except for phasing).
Just my opinion.
Also, from what ive read, it looks like during classic WoW Blizz had some raids closed behind doors and during the world first race everyone would gather up waiting for Blizz to open it. I would love to experience that with my own eyes in game, instead of using silly teleports. I think thats the only thing i would want from classic WoW.

Raids were not closed behind doors. The only exception was Gates of Ahn Quiraj, that one required a one time world event and legendary quest chain. It was the one and only time when WoW felt like something that was beyond just a simple game. That event is what I thought mmos would be all about with massive scale events which permanently alter the world. Throw in some ancient mysteries and it was just brilliant.
But that was just only for an extremely short period of time and only for 1 raid. Vast majority of players never saw it.
