I know that they fired a lot of good folk but the remaining ones are not that shabby .

    Damn, now I'm tempted to go back. I'm not much of a gamer these days, but those were the days. Not that I really want to go back to old EQ2, unless they kept the modern moving speed. Traveling was way too slow then.

    I remember that the island (last version of it, not the original) was still there when EQ2 was merged with Extended (end of 2011, according to Google). I got back access to my old account which I haven't played since 2006, and I had a character on the island, and it worked. Later they took it down.
