A very secretive and powerful gaming organization has just contacted you with a proposition. You can bring back any
Cancelled MMORPG
(as in currently off the market and not rebooted), and on top of that you can also change one aspect of the game you think made it suffer in the past.
So just a few rules before we get started for this post:
- Currently Available games or reboots set in a previous incarnation. IE: (Vanilla) WoW, and (Pre-Reboot) FFXIV - ARE OUT!
- Cancelled games set in a previous incarnation of development. IE: (Pre-Cu) SWG, and (Classic) EQ - ARE IN!
- Games that were never officially released IE: Wish Online and True Fantasy Live - ARE OUT!
- Games that did not make their first official release date but were later released IE: Gods and Heroes - ARE IN!
These are just general guidelines so the post doesn't degenerate into other areas. Simply put we are looking for "Cancelled MMO's" most likely with a fatal flaw, or even some simple flaw that you think could be fixed now to make it work. Have Fun!

I'm going to skirt this one a bit but this really should be a given if you are releasing a game, less bugs (ie going through buildings when jumping.)

E&B would be my second choice, loved that game. Still playing it but we're not allowed to talk about emu's.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

However for Vanguard aside from everyone else's complaints my only complaint was it was too much like EQ/EQ2.On that note i would change the aggro systems,too fake,proximity aggro on every mob looks bad and plays bad.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
For me pre-ToA Daoc or Warhammer Online pre-rat patch.
Bring Trion or AA in it and it's on! So funny.
I would
- Add PvP ranks / rewards for killing other people (but nothing to unbalance gear/skills)
or- Make player buffs persist if you die in PvP
or- Make non-combat professions cost no skill points (meaning everyone could have a full combat template plus still be able to craft)
or- Add vehicular combat
orThese all somewhat dumb down the original idea behind SWG, but all are really designed to get more people fighting and more people PvPing. Always hated getting all geared up and buffed up, heading out for a fight only to die within 5 minutes and then having to spend the next 10 minutes getting rebuffed, clearing wounds and fatigue etc.
