Does it have aircraft carriers and submarines? What about supply ships like tankers?
In real naval combat, the enemy ship was usually out of sight, or perhaps just a dot on the horizon, is that how the game plays? What about crafting? Can you heal or repair? Do you run out of ammunition?
Has aircraft carriers, yes, but no submarines, no tankers either. Ship combat takes place at upto 11 kilometers or so at earlier tiers. Zero crafting in the game. All ships can repair damaged parts, and battleships can also heal their hp with a limited consumable. Ammunition is unlimited, even for torpedos, only aircraft can be depleted.
I've been giving the game a try for 2 days now, so far it's... "meh". Not a terrible game, but like it's counterparts it is insanely grindy grindy GRINDY, I'm still likely 3-4 days away from even getting to try the weakest aircraft carriers. Also the game so far HEAVILY favors light destroyers, which can just murder everything with ease by spamming unlimited torpedos blindly across the ocean, one will inevitably hit something.
To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.
Ye damn youngsters and yer fancy Warship mmos! In my day, if there was an MMO and it had warships, it wasn't an MMO unless killer mermaids were flopping all over the deck fighting a full contingent of marines!
Oh, how the mighty have fallen!
Its a good game a lot of fun to be had.
As for the post above saying it heavily favors destoryers.. well thats wrong. You cant just blind fire torps as they prob wont hit anything at all. They need to be used at the right time otherwise they are useless..
Also if destoryers get cought in the open they are dead.. battleships can basically one shot them.

I laughed so hard I popped a filling out. That game is horribad....XD
I wonder how many maxed accounts MMORPG gets to pimp them so hard. People are still playing WoTs because they have so much time and money invested that they HAVE to keep playing. The smart ones closed their wallets and got out early.

I play the game quite a bit lately, and I don't see many DDs getting those kinds of kills. DDs are very squishy and people have gotten pretty good at taking them down.
I dunno man, if you jink and dodge a lot and get really quick at dropping torps on the fly, then it's not so hard to get a lot of kills. In fact, not getting hit in a destroyer in WoWS is ridiculously easier than not getting hit in a light tank in WoT.
My average game in a dessy was 3 kills, but 4-5 kill games weren't too uncommon.

I called it World of Torpedoes on the forum and engendered a whole lot of hate lol. For tanks and planes have you tried War Thunder? Just curious
Yeah, I went to their forums to do just the same thing and I saw where someone else had already made a post calling it World of Torpedoes, and I saw the hate they generated so I just left. Looks like the hardcore seamen want their long, hard metal tubes to stay in the game.
I probably should try War Thunder but fhs, I have every German tank in WoT, half the French tanks and a few American mediums. I'm not sure I want to go start over in another tank game. Is the progression tree similar or can I quickly be in whatever tank I want to play?
It's similar but different enough from WoT that I feel it's worth doing. War Thunder is more sim than WoT, and so you can get knocked out in one shot (but you have a life for each tank in the tiers you bring into the match).
After looking at the ships in WT I wonder though if the War Thunder naval battles will hold up to the very pretty ships in WOWS.
MMORPG players are often like Hobbits: They don't like Adventures
