Who still plays this and why?

I'm looking for a new MMO and I beta tested this before it went free to play. I liked what I saw to begin with but quickly grew stale. What has changed, and why do you still play?

I tried this game for the first time in awhile last night as a max level sorcerer.  

The reason to play is the combat system and the challenge.  At max level you are heavily punished for mistakes both in pvp and pve.  I tried a couple of pvp matches and got totally wrecked for being rusty, and then tried a pve instance and died getting one-shot by the first boss a couple of times.

The game is great if you're willing to get hardcore about it and "get gud" with your skills.  

At the moment though I'm more interested in SMITE for PVP and Black Desert RU for PVE.  If neither of those existed, I would probably be playing TERA again.

I started to play my lvl 45 sorc again..now im 55 and im getting tha hang of the combat now..I like it because you can dress up like you want to due to all the costumes, so that no one looks the same. Good effects and hard combats with mini bosses that man handles you around the screen

Tera is still a great mmo.  You also have Blade and Soul launching on Jan 19th if you wanted something new but similar.
