Just downloaded it today, still needs work, lots of work.  My system is i5 4690K, Radeon 7850 2 Gigs, 12 Gigs system memory and 2 terabyte HD.  Practically unplayable. Was trying flight training. Had to 3 finger salute to get out since it was running so poorly. Expect some "bugs" but not this. May try again later but if it works the same way will put it up on my digital shelf til a major update come out. Shows promise but from my experience way too early to try.
I dont think I would play this game with an i5 to be honest.

I am on path to get a new machine once Oculus Rift goes live which is also when I will likely buy this game.

That is how it worked during the era of gaming CR refers to when he mentions 'pushing the limits'. There was always a handful of games that pushed consumers to buy a new machine. i5 doesnt qualify as a 'new machine' in 2015 using the old formula

Man the game is shaping up real nice, i'm pleasantly surprised how immersive and cinematic it looks even at this early stage, i can't wait to play it when it's done
it appears that a lot has been cranked out lately which suggests to me all the early stages of getting a framework down is lined out and smooth now. I would suspect 2016 to be a rapid year of development

This will be most likely never.
To change the Headmotion back to a controlled state would either have them to rework all their animation and Character Controller or to have someone in the team who knows advanced IK tricks.

When you have cake, it is not the cake that creates the most magnificent of experiences, but it is the emotions attached to it.
    The cake is a lie.

I am not refering to Oculus Rift for Star Citizen. I am just saying I had already planned on getting a new machine when Oculus offically releases for non-Star Citizen reasons but its also good timing for me to wait for SC. Because the target date for Oculus is Q1 2016

PTU server has received the  2.1.0b  update. Various reasons for crashing have been found and removed. CIG switched back to the old EVA system and re-started working on the new physical-based EVA system based on the user feedback from 2.1.0a .The bug with new ships appearing on the same landing platform milliseconds after one ship has launched and those multiple ships getting stuck during liftoff should be fixed now.

LOL and even more people are happy with the progress and backing this game. So what? Of course it has bugs, in still in alpha, your posts are getting more and more pathetic.

I do not quite share the optimism of that poster, but PTU2.1.0b seems to have quite a few fans.

FPS in dogfights is the current issue being discussed a lot.

Where is your link? And isnt complaining about a game in alpha kinda ridiculous, since you should know there are bugs and inconveniences.

Objectively criticism to help the game improve is an other thing.

Objectively criticism is what I am giving since a long time. It helps more than subjective praise. Not always monetary interests of some people, and sometimes help more consumer decisions than the company, which does not sound, to me, working for the sake of the game and itself, but working for the sake of personal interests in my opinion. In any case, it helps, a lot more than hype and praises, talking about effectiveness.

So, you are the one who ask for links all the time, even when it is not really necessary. I just returned the favor, because here, it is really necessary. If you require more objectivity, you must to show objectivity yourself, and not just pure subjectivity as has been the case in all your posts.

    So let's change this now...

You claimed "that even more people are happy with the progress and backing this game."

My impression is the opposite, from what I have been following this. So, you probably have some source that I don't. So tell me... Link?

I want to see if your source is not refutable and then, I will believe and change my mind... a little.

Do you get paid for bashing this game in alpha?  You and Brenics just seem have a full time job doing this.  I appreciate the updates on the development and I visit the site for info like this, not for your posts. Time to start looking for an ignore feature on the site.

Update:  there is an ignore feature. Just go to the persons profile and scroll down to the bottom and click the ignore button.

Thanks to to those that are posting updates. Appreciate the information.

I like the progress I'm seeing with Star Citizen more than some other kickstarter titles I've backed, to be frank.  The only aspect I'm skeptical on is this entire Oculus rift craze, which is more than likely going to go the way of 3d TV in being a ridiculously expensive pass time for a select group of people rather than being a mainstream feature adopted by the public.   Everyone tried doing 3d multiple times and the best we got was a bunch of cute optical tricks that have faded to the enthusiast market.

So really, the only thing I'm trying to figure out is what the heck CR is going to do with gimbled weapons.  Without head tracking being mainstream that is going to give a precious few people some serious advantages in dog fighting.  I always assumed it would allow some kind of aim assist, but at this point I'm not sure that is going to be the case.

First, no you dont objectively critize SC, you are bashing SC,CR and the fans.

Second, you are  the one who make (sometimes silly) assumptions, without giving any links or evidences which proves them. I dont have the  time and interest to research every assumption you make.

You must really think people are dumb and that they cant make their own decisions based on given facts, thats why you try to twist anything and make it sound like it were the truth, but you never can prove your claims, you just shout them out. Its just a try to convince people not to pledge this game, thats your only goal.

But (most) people are not dumb, they see what you do.

But nevermind, this is not the right thread to discuss this.

For those who want to know what the current priorities in bug hunting are - take a look at the Star Citizen "Issue Council". If you are a backer, you can steer the bug hunters in a direction you think is the most important by changing priority.

    https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/issue-council

    https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/issue-council/star-citizen-alpha

    https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/issue-council/star-citizen-alpha/prioritize

It also shows bugs that are common and reproducable and bugs that are rare (although some of the funny ones have made it on Youtube).

CIG has opened up 2.1.0 on the Public Test Universe (PTU) to all players. Go test your Freelancer !

    https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/308492

And patched it up to 2.1.0c

    https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/308482

Of course 2.0.0 is still running on the normal "Live service" test server and open for all players.

that´s pretty amazing for unopimized Alpha and DirectX12 not yet implemented. So these are basically the base values I suppose it will only go up from there. DX12 will bump this since they´re doing a full scale core integration with all bells and whistles.

Once more i can't stress enough the benefits of using a SSD, if present, for SC. A number of people although having such a disk prefer to have the game on a HDD with the excuse that it's not a finished product hence re-installs will be required.

The performance difference on a SSD is abysmal.

Mechanical harddisks are an insult to PC gaming. SSD all the way. HD for storage/archive purposes only.
