Patch 2.1.0e has been published to PTU

    https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/312467

    "Notes:

    • We are aware that the elevator UI frequently provides a false-positive “server full” error message when attempting to join an instance. We are investigating the cause of these errors.
    • The doors from the spawn elevator into ArcCorp proper will occasionally break, trapping occupants inside.

    Hangar Module

    Ships

    • Fixed an issue where the Hangar camera would clip through the Vanguard when rotating around the player in third person.
    • Fixed an issue where the Vanguard was missing it’s bathroom door.

    Persistent Universe:

    Balance/Tweaks:

    Gameplay

    • Made several improvements to turret movement speed.
    • We are still in the process of making other improvements to turrets.

    Fixes:

    Gameplay

    • Fixed an issue where ship weapons were not functional after having been repaired.

      Technical
    • Fixed an issue where clients connected to Crusader would receive a black screen if GIM restarted.
    • Made some additional performance improvements for clients connected to Crusader when a player characters die in combat. "

Local server structure is not something you can tack on on a cloud based server protocol.

This is something they promised as core feature (with mod tools) and now they will look into it maybe somewhen after release.

Star Citizen seems to have dropped their Grabby Hands system which was confirmed for SC 6 months ago.
Lando spoke it out then ruddered a bit back to something they maybe look into in the future.
Thanks ... listened to it now. Lando said "Grabby Hands" was a first try to create a system for manipulating items. He made clear that some kind of system will be in the game, but it will NOT be  "Grabby Hands" exactly as shown. It will most likely be a modification of the "Grabby Hands" system. Preferably an even better system. So ... not dropped ... they continually work on it since the presentation in 2015.

But most of all I personally understood: they will have in the game whatever WORKS in the game, is fast enough in an instance without dragging down the framerate, accurate enough when it comes to placing things! He specifically mentioned decorating hangars .... and I have VERY FOND memories of interior architecture and design in Star Wars Galaxies ... where i was continually amazed by the creativity of people when you gave them various items to place as they want - and out came something amazing.

Thanks for the link. The rest is interesting too.

    "Hangar Module

    Ships

    Arena Commander Module:

    Environment

    Persistent Universe:

    Gameplay

    • Fixed an issue where ship weapons would remain non-functional after having been repaired.
    • Fixed an issue where destroyed portions of the ship such as the hull were not being replaced by repair. But weapons would return and float mid-air near your ship.

No he didn't. This is a lie. In fact he went to great extent to explain that a lot of things that are shown don't make it through development. "It's a thing we are exploring". He then went on to say "pretty good chance" "most likely" something like it will be in game, something "very different". He stopped far short of saying this feature will make it to the game.

You might say I'm nitpicking here, but you being the self appointed source of SC information should not fluff up information as you did here by saying "He made clear that some kind of system will be in the game".

    PS:

OMG ... i am a leak for Derek Smart ;-)

Here is what he wrote (one day AFTER the patch notes were posted here):

"Seriously, this is the crap they're spending time hiding. Of course it's all gonna get leaked. https://i.imgur.com/6BWCCKA.png "

When will that guy get a clue ?!  When will he realize that the patch notes are being reposted all over the internet and that its not a sikrit conspiracy if he personally cannot read them on the official CIG forum ?!

Patch Alpha 2.1.1 has been published to the PTU Server

    https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/314337

(some of you - non backers, non PTU testers - may not be able to access that page, so I repeat the patch notes here)

    "....Some important call-outs:

    • A jet-pack looking item is appearing on the back of characters in Crusader. This will be removed shortly.
    • We are aware that ArcCorp is still suffering from some texture problems and level of detail popping.

    Arena Commander Module:

    Balance/Tweaks:

    Components

    • Improved the overheat rate of the Revenant Gatling gun, so that it will go longer before overheating.

      Ships
    • Slightly reduced the overall maneuverability of the Vanguard Warden.
    • The Vanduul Glaive now has cruise speed of 1080.
    • The Vanduul Scythe now has a cruise speed of 995.
    • The Vanduul Glaive has received a significant increase to ship health.

    Fixes:

    Gameplay

    • Fixed an issue where enemy Vanduul AI ships would spin out of control when killed and only despawn on hitting the simulation boundary.
    • Fixed an issue where damaging or destroying a Vanguard Warden was not awarding points in Arena Commander.

      Ships
    • Fixed the position of the radar globe in the Vanguard Warden ship HUD.
    • We are temporarily changing the Vanguard to use one shield at 6x current strength, to closer mimic its final function.
      • This is temporary as the tech for the six-shield set up the Vanguard will have in its final iteration is not yet implemented in 2.1.
    • Fixed an issue with the Cutlass Black and Retaliator turrets, where the weapons were misaligned and not correctly attached to the turret mounts.

      User Interface
    • Fixed an issue where the central MFD information was offset from the ship HUD on the Vanguard Warden’s screen.

    Persistent Universe:

    Additions:

    Gameplay

    • Increased the maximum player count in Crusader from 16 to 24.
      • The maximum player ship count in the instance is still locked to 16 while we gather data.

    Fixes:

    Gameplay

    • Fixed a bug that caused all doors in ArcCorp and Million Mile High club to break.

      Technical
    • Fixed a number of server and client crashes. ..."

Probably  because the only people really concerned with patch notes at this point in development are those actually interested in playing the Alpha/pre-alpha stuff.  I've been a backer since forever now and all I do is log in to look at my ship in the hangar.  Never really bothered looking at the notes.

That's weird. Like what do they think? Someone's going to go off and make grand, sweeping assumptions about the progress of the game based on something published in the release notes? ;)

Patch Alpha 2.1.1a has been published to the PTU Server

    https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/314572/2-1-1a-published-to-ptu#latest

(some of you - non backers, non PTU testers - may not be able to access that page, so I repeat the patch notes here. We all know who will post this in Twitter as "hidden and sikrit" in two or three days as proof for an ongoing conspiracy :-)

    "Arena Commander Module:

    Balance/Tweaks:

    Ships

    • The Vanguard Warden has received a number of maneuverability tweaks, based on feedback and our own observations.
      • Simple movements should result in much less oversteer and sliding when doing simple movements.
      • Changes of direction when pitching and yawing should now come with improved acceleration.
      • It should no longer be able to get into unrecoverable spins unless severely damaged.

    Fixes:

    Ships

    • Fixed an issue where Vanguard Pilots would find their character eyes visible in the middle of their screen, after respawning in Arena Commander games.

    Persistent Universe:

    Additions:

    Gameplay

    • The max player count for Crusader has been returned to 16.
      • We gathered a ton of great data during the time it was increased, thanks to everyone who jumped into for testing!

    Fixes:

    Environment

    • Removed an errant Devastator-12 Energy Shotgun that would spawn inside of one of rare wrecks in the Yela Asteroid Field.
      • This was removed because it would cause a client crash. If any player finds this still in-game on this new build, please report it to Issue Council ASAP. Thank you!

        Technical
    • Made several FPS performance improvements to the Constellation Andromeda while in Crusader."

Is it now allowed to post patch notes? Because the Original is in a restricted area that requires a paid membership. Have you double checked that with CIG?

Seems odd that the game being touted as the most open development project ever has something as simple as patch notes behind a potential paywall. I say potential because the link requires an account to sign in so I can't check if you need to be a backer or just signed up.
