Headline says it all:
If I had to choose how to spend my weekend (which has already started), which expansion would/should I play?
GW2 costs the box.
SWTOR costs a monthly sub.
GW2 I think my highest character is 30-ish.
SWTOR I played through the Hutt Cartel stuff (on 2 characters)
I don't group, I tend to solo. Led to issues in both games.

GW2 does have better PvP in general, but I'm not sure if that's your thing.
Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!
When you want story and slower pace - SWTOR

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

GW2 all the way for me... specially if you don´t plan on paying a sub....
SWTOR is NOT FTP! It´s more like FreeToTry...
My own preference is SW:TOR, it has a good solo experience, with a lot of storyline, and now you can use companions as you wish in whatever role supports your class specialisation makes things a lot easier, and imo, a bit more fun. You can pretty play through the whole game solo, the only things you really need to group for, are the flashpoints/operations, and its a bit like end game raiding, if your not into it, then you don't have to do them. That isn't to say that you can't group with others in SW:TOR, as you definitely can, and there are lots of missions on the different planets that you can in a group, before you reach 'end game' and it does enhance the gameplay imo. In terms of PVP though, there aren't many MMO's out there that don't do it better, although it is fairly easy to get into, it didn't feel all that rewarding, maybe this will be addressed in the future? there are 2 space combat minigames too, one an on rails shooter, and one a pvp team based game using a variety of ships, which is more fun, but, takes a lot of time to get good at, mostly because abilities have to be unlocked on the ships, personally i think the space based pvp game is much better than the ground based ones, at least in terms of having fun while playing them.
Also, if you already played gw2 when it was new and shiny and only made it to the 30s what makes you think there will be something to hold your attention this time around? Granted they just added raiding but not like that's going to do anything for a solo player.
Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.
HOWEVER if gw2 doesn't really catch you I wouldn't recommend it. I've been wanting more out of the game and I am having a good time. Waiting for tomorrow's patch where they remove a grindy requirement to a particular story step.
Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play?
