It something my wife and I can relate to. When we were dating, my first time in her apartment I saw seasons of Voyager next to her tv. I knew I found a great woman!
Space combat + iconic ships + fun missions based on Star Trek lore. I used to play the heck out of Star Trek Bridge Commaander back in the day, if I were to imagine that game as an MMO, Star Trek Online is about as close as you can get.
I'm a big Star Trek fan, so it's only natural that I love this game. It's pretty much the only MMO I am currently playing, I have multiple characters and enjoy flying around in a starship.
Growing up i got to watch alot of DS9. the character development over the years of watching it with my family helped spark my interest in sci-fi, and later science in general. i would not be as into technology if it wasnt for star trek =D
I became a total Trekkie over a year ago and this is game, time and time again, makes me feel like I'm living out episodes of the show. The Defiant happens to be my favorite starship in any of the series, so I'd love to have a T6 one of those :D
I love STO for three reasons: First, it continues the Prime continuity; second, it allows lots of options for ship/character/crew customization; three, it's the most "complete" Star Trek experience of any Star Trek game yet released, allowing everything from away team missions and space battles to diplomatic negotiations and flag-officer paper-pushing. It's pretty much everything I could want from a Star Trek game.
I love Star Trek Online because it is a wonderful MMORPG set in the sci-fi fantasy world of my childhood. I feel more connected to my inner child playing this game than any other.
I love Star Trek Online for the space battles where I get to destroy the Borg and Species 8472. I loved the Voyager series so getting to fly around the delta quadrant is great.
I love STO because the space combat is fun, the story is pretty good. There is a good group of people, not nearly as elitist as other games I have played.
