I like glamours and I played every single class/crafter/gatherer, so I had a lot of gear/stuff to keep. The majority of my FC/static mates also had the $13 package, because they also have the same issues I had. We all crafted and gathered, and if you want to keep anything organized, it required having multiple retainers.
Also, the things that can go into the "ARMOUR IN THE INN OR PRIVATE HOME" is incredibly limited; anyone who's played the game long enough to get to that point knows how utterly useless it is. The only things you can place into those is the original AF armors and some of the event glamours, that's it. If you keep battle gear (99% of the gear in the game) for glamour (the majority of players do, by the way) you're stuck with purchasing more retainers in order to provide storage.
Anyone defending the FFXIV storage system has to be insane; there's zero excuse for such an antiquated and limiting system.

Check newest patch notes, we can store more items and more are added each week. It's at the bottom with added items list they usually do.

Never once said in the same order. I actually skipped ESO for Diadem gear and went back for my ESO DRG shirt for glamours.
So I went from LAW to Diadem to back to get an ESO chest. I am also doing Anima for a wep and doing thordan ex for it's wep as well as rav ex for the glamours.
I progress as I see fit. You can't try to change my word's around. I never did anything in order from 2.0 and it was not the same at all. At times I just used hunts to get Poe and Law. Maps too.
There are 100 different ways of getting any end game currency. You don't have to do one thing.

I mentioned from battle content, I don't include individual class progression as battle content rather specifically endgame related activities. Getting my first ability Painflare as SMN wasn't quite miraculous but rather it was a wait to level 58 to get Dead Trance but to only be tied all together with Deathflare at 60. Once again this isn't where most of the issues people have with the game stem from.

I suppose my use of the word "you" was a little misunderstood; I didn't mean you specifically, but "the player" in general. My mistake, I suppose.
In 3.0, if you played through the content as it came out, it progressed identically to 2.0. We have been able to predict what new iLvl and currency has come out with each patch with such expert precision because they're following the exact same pattern of cookie-cutter content as they did with 2.0. I can nearly guarantee that 3.2 will come with a new tomestone used to purchase new armor/weapons that are +5 iLvl from the 3.1 armor/weapons.
If you can't see the problem with the vertical progression in this game, I don't know how else I can explain why it's bad for the game's longevity. Heck, 3.0 launched with two new EX primals, one of which was immediately "outdated" simply because it gated another EX primal that dropped a weapon +5 iLvls higher. It makes no sense to release content this way; people had no reason to do Bismark EX more than once, unless they really wanted the weapon for glamour.

Like first of all, you can live successfully with 2 retainers in the game. With ease and all crafts at 60. if you would like you can use that link for my FC FB page and ask anybody.
So if someone is new and comes to the game forums and reads, "Inventory is a mess, an extra 13$ added to my sub", they get scared and run away.
Now say that person who was deterred by you, has no interest in doing anything but 1 job and no crafts/gathering, chooses to not play because you said the sub would be over 20$ a month just to play.

We do things for people we love, and so I gave HW another shot because my GF pleaded me to and boy was it a mistake. FFXIV in its current state is just so terrible to me ("to me") that no amount of genuine love will convince me to play that Square Enix aborted WoW clone that is FFXIV unless major changes are made. FFXIV in its current state is just so terrible to me ("to me") that no amount of genuine love will convince me to play that Square Enix aborted WoW clone that is FFXIV unless major changes are made. Well when your post has a condescending air about it and you so suddenly revert to your passive state its easy to misread a posts intent. I rather like putting you on blast on the official lodestone instead of giving you more of mine/gf's personal info. Also, the things that can go into the "ARMOUR IN THE INN OR PRIVATE HOME" is incredibly limited; anyone who's played the game long enough to get to that point knows how utterly useless it is. The only things you can place into those is the original AF armors and some of the event glamours, that's it. If you keep battle gear (99% of the gear in the game) for glamour (the majority of players do, by the way) you're stuck with purchasing more retainers in order to provide storage.
Anyone defending the FFXIV storage system has to be insane; there's zero excuse for such an antiquated and limiting system.
50 to 60 was like learning every job over again. BRD's now cast and so do MCH's. DRG's now have procs and WAR's can legit be DPS's.
My progression changed all the time. First I was getting LAW stuff, then I was working on ESO stuff, then DIADEM came and I got a shit load 210 PLD/WAR gear, belt pants and neck piece. I just went back and got my DRG ESO shirt and used a GOBTWINE and turned it from ilvl 200 to ilvl 210. Now getting items for upgrading ESO and LAW gear is a completely whole other system in itself.
Yes dude, there are many was to gear progress and evolve. OMG, outfitting a crafter is intense with materia melding and whatnot.

WoW and SWTOR have a max of 400 and that's it. Can't even buy anymore. Others are worse. ESO can only ever hold a max of 200. EVER.
The incredibly vertical progression in this game is incredibly narrow-minded and limiting. This is a major complaint about the game right now.

Funny, I never had storage issues in SWTOR or WoW, but I could never find enough in XIV. /shrug)
So I went from LAW to Diadem to back to get an ESO chest. I am also doing Anima for a wep and doing thordan ex for it's wep as well as rav ex for the glamours.
I progress as I see fit. You can't try to change my word's around. I never did anything in order from 2.0 and it was not the same at all. At times I just used hunts to get Poe and Law. Maps too.
There are 100 different ways of getting any end game currency. You don't have to do one thing.

It's funny too that some strange users here seem to back up very specific claims you have. Actually, a little too specific. Maybe you like to bring sockpuppet accounts to back you're arguments up?
In 3.0, if you played through the content as it came out, it progressed identically to 2.0. We have been able to predict what new iLvl and currency has come out with each patch with such expert precision because they're following the exact same pattern of cookie-cutter content as they did with 2.0. I can nearly guarantee that 3.2 will come with a new tomestone used to purchase new armor/weapons that are +5 iLvl from the 3.1 armor/weapons.
If you can't see the problem with the vertical progression in this game, I don't know how else I can explain why it's bad for the game's longevity. Heck, 3.0 launched with two new EX primals, one of which was immediately "outdated" simply because it gated another EX primal that dropped a weapon +5 iLvls higher. It makes no sense to release content this way; people had no reason to do Bismark EX more than once, unless they really wanted the weapon for glamour.

Like first of all, you can live successfully with 2 retainers in the game. With ease and all crafts at 60. if you would like you can use that link for my FC FB page and ask anybody.
So if someone is new and comes to the game forums and reads, "Inventory is a mess, an extra 13$ added to my sub", they get scared and run away.
Now say that person who was deterred by you, has no interest in doing anything but 1 job and no crafts/gathering, chooses to not play because you said the sub would be over 20$ a month just to play.
Now how is that fair for new people?

As a matter of fact, tonight in ESO we had a dude who joined the game. When I asked him why he did not play earlier when ESO released he stated, "Because people said it did not feel like an Elder Scrolls game". I think you're confusing "wrong information" with "opinions you don't agree with". That's where your problem stems from, I imagine, with my opinion on certain aspects I didn't enjoy about FFXIV.
Telling people that they will not be able to play the game successfully without buying extra retainers and that the game population is leaving, etc., is giving wrong information.

there is also a huge difference in giving CURRENT information for the CURRENT state of the game, when you have not even tried said CURRENT game state.
Guessing because somebody read some reddit posts by some jerk off's does not mean the entire population is leaving and hates what the game has become.
It's okay to not like thing's that you have played in the game. I never once commented on XI's state of the game at end game. Not once. At all. Because I have no idea about it and neither do half the people commenting here, not you necessaraly, know how FF XIV ARR end game is really like because they quit on 2.x or whatever.
