~Perfect new MMORPG, WoW killer, the title to unite community once again~

Sorry for "WoW killer" its most notable refference, even with the addition that the game in question is already dying and outdated.

After i played so long and tried many many titles, some were fun and good, some were unbalanced, others were re-hash and grind, so..

>>If only any developer would take
elements from these games we know ,reshape them into something better and merge into creation: <<

Tera action type, and skill customisation builds

Guild Wars 2Balance&crafting system
( part where items are created fast, and the crafting window is visible/well arranged with a touch of archeage housing&vehicle crafting, mostly only that),

Archeage sandboxy gameplay possibilities but with instanced housing,

Hybrid gear progression, that would involve previous tiers being broken/upgraded for mats for next tier
but universal gear pvp and pve wise or a system that lets swap between them very fast, like macro.

Classes like in RIFT, only more balanced, and all that system brings, like fast swapping, maybe customisation like in Path of Exile, if nearly as
possible to balance out.

Leveling available via any action in the game, with less grind, but more difficult/slow progression, rewarding players with current gear, but with each step a piece of materials needed for something greater, since players dont appreciate leveling only as means to an end.
(lowering all players on the same map lvl for balance)

Few monetary values related to gameplay type, not 30 like in GW2..

Evolving world events, rifts, events like in gw2, that grant buffs to players once completed or worth reward

Rare World based events, like 3/week with open pvp, world bosses ,only much more rewarding which would cause alliances to form and break.

Underground&Air battles, landscapes with open world, or instanced ,but very large zones, and truly beautifull scenery like in Tera or Archeage

Guild wars and sieging , balanced ,long ,mercenaries, viewers, covert ops

Balanced dungeons and raids that do not outdate ,but all rather work as a daily, with latest ones being harder and more rewarding.

Payment model of sub 10$ /one time payment even 100$ ,but without the gear related items in cash shop, only skins, cosmetics, pets without stats, and other, cant stress this enough!

Report/Ban system and chat/spam blocking that is effective but precise enough.

think about this and make us a good MMORPG , pretty please o.o

Becouse i and would like to think, most of the world would play this kind of game :awesome:

Do add your ideas as well please, maybe some devs that lurk the forums would give it significance

Too many different players want too many different things.

I'd rather devs pick the player base they're after and create a game for them. Trying to make something for everyone is no longer an option.

Are you two saying that World of Warcraft, and League of Legends are not holding majority of the community in its loop?
Becouse that is exactly what is happening, and if a game offers much, many different things ,pvx, arenas, crafting, raiding, open world, peacefull housing, trading&farming etc,

that title could attract many different kinds of players, into making one mmorpg have extremely high population.

At this very moment , i am incredibly annoyed, that i am playing GW2 just for its PvP, Smite just for its competetivness and fun, and few other games becouse i cant find it all in one, its stupid is what it is.

That no one can get it right ,not like it was in WoW vanilla, like they say or in SW Galaxies..

We are denied of quality titles, is all.

Then there's the challenge of making it actually be really fun for a really long time as to accumulate that many long-term players. Lot's of games try to appeal to all of those people but then turn out to be mediocre or something just isn't sticking for most people. I think WoW had a perfect storm where there was very little legitimate competition in the market at the time. I don't even think Blizzard can replicate what happened with WoW. Same with League of Legends, it came out before the MOBA market was as saturated as it's very rapidly becoming.

Your ideas are very good ideas, except honestly I would not want to play a game with GW2's crafting system which I think is an abysmal failure imho and I can't stand illogical crafting such as needing to farm 900 drake teeth and 1200 fairy dusts + whatever rare artifact to make a book for my back slot. No games that rely heavily on crafting have mass appeal, because a lot of players just want to play the game, and crafting is always viewed as an unfortunately necessary chore. Nobody likes chores. We have to do them irl and in the same vein if you think of it in an arts & crafts light, a lot of people really hate doing those too. Part of the appeal GW2 had for players was that crafting was more or less irrelevant to your progression, you simply played the game and had fun. When they introduced Ascended crafting there was a MASSIVE community backlash that they haven't really recovered from completely. I will never forget when that happened lol.

If there were going to be a WoW killer or "The One MMO to Rule Them All" it would have happened already. People need to give up on the idea that some company is going to release an MMO with all the things and it will be the next big revolution in MMO's. It's not going to happen. These games are too expensive to make as it is, and it's important to narrow the scope of a project to be within reason. Putting everything in a blender and hoping for the best will not work.

    Hey ,thank you !
That is valid info and some good thinking ,i still think many players are in the cloud and jumping from mmo to mmo becouse its all over reddit and forums, people say so, rarely who sticks with a title more than few months, they either burst through content or see the game flaws, and every single MMORPG of today has some serious FLAWS.

The community is spread as well, but there is a big chance many would migrate as soon as something good is released.

Changed the part about crafting, and pointed what and which parts are a plus, at least for me.

Me and prolly many more know this would work, if done right, the error factor comes slightly from devs, more from company policy and publishers.

The game can be created ,with very high costs, yes, but that doesnt mean they arent trying to make it, see Destiny, that budget is crazy, they could had made a game i suggest for example.

Also ,Star Citizen has kickstarter and can invest on its own on top of that, making a large universe that will could be rival to Eve Online or greater,in many other aspects as well. If only they wouldnt go p2w .. yep

Get the fuck outta here. WoW vanilla, for as good as it was back then, had massive issues and would literally be turd on a spike if released today. The raids were little more than tank and spanks. MC you really only needed 18~ competent people to beat the fights, the rest were just used as extra bodies so to speak. A bunch of the raids were like this despite them being 40man.

All the trade/yell LFG spammers was outright horrible. Thank god LFG tool fixed all that. The only thing i'd say they shouldn't have done is have it teleport everyone to the dungeon(killed ow pvp). Tired of idiots like you saying shit like "waaah waaah bring back vanilla, it was best" when i bet you never even played vanilla wow because the way you talking sure as fuck makes it seem like you never experienced the many problems it had.

Yep, didnt play it, at least not in vanilla state, i did say "like they say" for both of those, implying hundreds of times i saw that, figured it might have a value.

Also, any old game right now, good as it may be on its release date ,cant be good now ,since interface, graphics, gameplay expectations(that go with possibilities) simply cant deliver anymore ,engines get outdated, content/lore gets oversaturated itc

The notion of idea i had i more of a, invest 500kk $, in segments of each game section picked from best known solutions ,than improve them some more, and implement it into one title, while working on balancing it out, which would be the most difficult part, since i mentioned many game mechanics.

WoW is not popular because of its gameplay. It's popular because it's Warcraft and it's Blizzard. That snowballed and reached self-sustaining, critical mass. At the time, the general public hadn't heard of MMOs, so as it gained popularity, it was "the next big thing" to many, despite the fact that it had been done several times before (most notably, EQ). They accepted WoW for all that it was, good and bad, because it was the first MMO they had ever played.

When I tell people about my game, ya know what I have to say? "You know World of Warcraft? It's like that, but cyberpunk."

That type of boom is not likely to happen again. So, as others have said, now that WoW has shined a spotlight on the genre, the best thing to do, is to pick your audience and build a great game for them.

Exactly what developer hasn't been cut and pasting elements from other MMOs into their own?  That's where the problem is... assuming that anything borrowed is somehow new.

We've all been there and done that to death.  The only people who see this as new are those who have never played it before... and that excludes everyone from this website in perpetuity.

Hahahah xD seeing this and the SC clip made me remmember, oh believe me i dont forget what AA and Tera did with cash shop, and what GW2 did with the expansion, focused only on positive things in those titles, even as they are as rare.
Not many solid mmorpg's to begin with.

It's extremely hard to find a game i like and actually stick with it.. I love WoW, GW2, rappelz, D3. These are my top of the play list games..All of them combined would be awesome..I just wish something was above these that interests me in game play...
  • Andel_SkaarAndel_Skaar Member UncommonPosts: 401
Apparently it is a rather futuristic thing to expect something like that from developers, merging game elements or even genres is time consuming and costly.
Still we live in "the future" day by day gaming will be pushed into Virtual Reality as well.
Some dev's are already bold trying to merge online genres ,like SC- SpaceSim+Shooter, but thats beside the point.

why would you want to stick with a game?

I like many games too (including D3) .. but i certainly do NOT only play it. For example, i play a lot more Fallout 4 than D3 in the last few days.
