you know "elitepvpers" is a hacker / botting "kiddo" community .. oO srsly, nice choice of headlines for this thread.
By definition most eSpurt players are cheating. Be it macros, specialized hardware with extra buttons and the worst offenders - aimbots, wallbots, bots in general, exploits and the like.
Most eSpurt players would do anything to gain the edge in a fight. Anything to gain unfair advantage. That's what basically cheating is.
But don't take my word for it. Check out the CSGO scandals that happened recently. I'm sure you'll find those in every espurt game.
On the bright side, cheating in online games is not yet a crime, so at worst you just get banned from competing and/or the game itself.
A real competition would but all players in the same shoes, so to speak. E.g. equal framerate, equal input hardware and what they would measure then is tactics, reaction time, precision and individual player's cool in tough situations.
eSpurts atm is whoever has the better script. It's actually why I think eSpurt would never fly off and reach sports like football or basketball or tennis, you know, "real sports".
And before someone tries to counter my opinion by saying that there are tournaments for millions of dollars with hundreds of viewers, how often do you see eSpurt on national TV or hell, ESPN/SkySportsHD
I've won my fair share of counter strike tournaments in my youth, but not before i was wasting 2-3 minutes per game to input the necessary commands in the console to set my client just right so i would see my opponents few frames earlier than they see me. Easy peasy afterwards. The organizers were usually too busy pulling in sponsors and didn't care who types what in the console. The client/server allows it right?

In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
Ill be enjoying PvE on a different server. If i want PvP i play a fighting game that is designed from the ground up entirely for PvP.
