Dr. Frankenstein is the title character from Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel who, after studying the decay of living beings, assembled a humanoid creature comprised of a various collection of human remains. Talk about a gruesome crafting profession! Leave it to the folks at ArtCraft to say, “I think we’ll include that.” Yep, it’s in Crowfall and it’s a crafting profession called Necromancy.

Yes. Games have become too streamlined.

Seems a bit unnecessary.
It's the kind of thing which adds depth to the world. It's like all the books in ESO, the NPC stories in Fallout: New Vegas which have nothing to do with quests, or being able to bake bread in Ultima 7. Stuff like this makes the world feel just a little bit more real, and if it can also accomplish something useful, then so much the better.
I have little interest in the game because of its PvP focus, but this is an interesting feature.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!
We are born of the blood. Made men by the blood. Undone by the blood. Our eyes are yet to open. FEAR THE OLD BLOOD.

lol I just noticed this!
I like that we'll be able to build (or steal) epic and legendary bodies, change race/class and even sex (forced sex change, anyone?) quite often, like it or not.
Also, this should give graveyards another dimension and double value - besides being "just" respawn points ?!?
The thing to remember is the bodies you are inhabiting are fighting on dying worlds. It makes sense that your crow soul is permanent while bodies come and go if the world is also going to end. Only your Eternal Kingdom will have a sense of permanence for you in this game.
You can compare the archetype bodies to ship in EVE to a small extent, and your crow soul will be like the pod. Except it doesn't sound like bodies will be destroyed as easily as EVE ships. The bodies will only be loot-able on the 2 most hardcore worlds in the beginning. (World rules being subject to modification and change on a regular basis is a major theme to this game.)So if you never want to lose your body, just don't go to those worlds. The most dangerous worlds will have the best rewards though. So there will be a balancing act based on risk vrs reward that the player will have decide how hardcore they are willing to play if they want access to the best materials and rewards.
I plan on parking my original body in the Eternal Kingdom and only playing it there. The rest of the bodies I will play are just vessels provided by the gods for the waging of their war.
Another handy little side effect of this new system is that you will only have one character name per account. The name of your crow soul. So if you want to be a successful merchant but also want to play a thief scammer douchebag, you are going to need 2 accounts or a really good PR department.
After reading up on the new changes, I really approve. I think this game is heading in the right direction. Changes like this one leave me feeling almost good enough to back the game. Almost.
( Note to self-Don't say anything bad about Drizzt.)
An acerbic sense of humor is NOT allowed here.
Seems a bit unnecessary.
It may seem so, however, there are many systems similiar to this one which in the end form a legandary economical system unseen before. Every little thing contributes to economy of this game which hopefully will turn out to be very interesting game. Its more than word "Economy" , it means that every trading and flow of power will be done betwene players, it will force alliances aswell as giving much more interesting (and intelligent) ways to harras your opponent.
Corpse Preparation
It was one of my better play-throughs. Very unnecessary. But yeah. Fun.
Be still my beatin... oh wait.
Love it :D
Also on the looting idea,is their any mention of cash shop items sold to protect looting? This all needs to be answered in a cash shop game.
On the idea itself,it is a good idea,i like lots of crafting in a game as long as there is no sneaky stuff behind the idea.
I don't understand this whole "customer" way of thinking, just as in real life or even as should be in gaming, you should be able to learn any class or skill however to maintain the CLASS and ROLE of your character there should be limitations depending on class you choose to play at the time.SO if this is somehow a way of having players EARN their different roles or class/character ideas i am good with that,if there is some other reason behind it,then i don't understand it.
