So, I have a few questions about the games in the title! I used to play both, and loved them, but quit both for various reasons -- though, with new expansions out and all that, I'm wondering if I should consider getting back into them.
First up is WoW. I played WoW for 10 years and absolutely loved it! The lore, the atmosphere, the looks (I love cartoony styles), the combat (especially during Wrath, Cata and MOP), all of it. Then, 6.0 came out, and they took my favorite thing in the game, Fistweaving, and totally destroyed it. Of course I had other classes, but a lot of people were saying that they had gutted every class's kit and made them so simplistic that you really couldn't go wrong. After doing a dungeon run with my Monk, and being totally unable to heal at all with Fistweaving, I just logged out and haven't logged in since.
So, is the combat as bad as people say it is? Is it really just mindless button mashing of 2-3 abilities? What are the raids like now -- are they easy too? Is the lore in Draenor any good? Just what is the game like now?
Next up, GW2.
So, about halfway through my WoW career, I picked up GW2 (since I was a little burnt out on WoW at the time), and absolutely loved it. The combat was fast-paced and interesting, the story was interesting, all that. I didn't like the whole cash shop aspect of it, but I could ignore it. However, after trying out all the classes and getting an Engineer to max level, I started to burn out. Events like the Halloween clock tower climb and the Christmas stuff were fun, but I was really just running Fractals all day and wandering around filling hearts and exploring the map. While I loved WvW and all that, my computer at the time couldn't handle it very well (new one would be more than fine).
My questions for GW2: Is the raiding fun and challenging, or is just a boring button-mashing fest like Wildstar? Is there more to do at max level (that's moderately challenging) other than spam Fractals all day? Are they still obsessing over the cash shop, or is content being added more regularly now (Living Story doesn't count)?
Lastly, Blade and Soul (is BnS the acronym for it?).
So, I've heard a lot of great things about Blade and Soul, and the hype is almost tangible... but is the game fun? Most action games are kind of spammy and repetitive, and none too challenging, but what about this one? Is there raiding, and if so, is it challenging? I heard there's no healers in this game, so it's up to you to stay alive through it all, I suppose, but would that mean the mechanics are easier to deal with?
Anyway, thanks for any help you guys can give. ^^
(And if anyone knows of any fun MMOs with challenging PvE content (and lots of it) and good PvP, please, let me know! I've been without an MMO to call home for like 7 months now.

However, with lack of updates till the xpac drops is sad, but theres still plenty to do if you havent exp all of dranoer. So you may wanna stay away, but if you enjoyed it go for it. $15 a month, even if you only play 15 hours, $1 an hour for fun is well worth it.
Im very happy with GW2 and dont have plans to leave any time soon. Also i and never experienced what you described. If you had to spam fractals all day then you were doing it wrong. I did one once, years ago, too busy doing other content to spam fractals.
And WoW does not have a bad combat, whiners are probably just spoiled by action combat. Its personal preference. If you want an example of a bad combat go play Wildstar, and when you get carpal tunnel come share your experience with us.
Cant really talk about BnS because the US version hasnt launched. I dont know what changed from the Russian/Japanese servers. The only thing i can say about it is the combat wipes the floor with Tera.
OP, If you dont want to play the 3 mmos you mentioned then try ESO or FFXIV.
Fractals were fun for me, since they were challenging PvE content, so that's what I did. I tried other dungeons and whatnot, but they just weren't all that fun (at max level. Leveling up they were brutal). So, if the raids are tough, then that's perfect, since my new computer can handle WvW a lot better. :pleased:
No, I love WoW combat, don't get me wrong... it's just that I heard that the new developer (sorry to see GC go) took all the classes and gutted their kits, making them into 2-3 button spam for whatever reason. I did play Wildstar though, and the combat was just so boring, that's why I quit. xD That, combined with everything being a telegraph (AKA easily dealt with, and in the same way)... I just got bored. I wouldn't really recommend Wildstar to anyone.
Well I don't know anything about BnS, so I was just asking, might get one of those founder's kits (the $25 one) if I can figure out if I'd like it. :pleased: As for WoW and GW2, I'd actually love to get back into them, but I don't wanna go throwing money at things if it's not worth it, or if the problems I quit over haven't improved at all.
I actually tried FFXIV shortly after ARR came out. It was interesting for sure, and I loved all the nostalgia from growing up on SNES FF games, but the combat just bored me; the 2.5-3s GCD was just horrendous, and the mechanics to fights (that other people said were hard (some earth elemental thing at level 30)) just weren't all that interesting for me. If they've changed the combat to be more interesting, I'd be all over FFXIV. xD
GW2 raiding depends. The raid in GW2 is pretty much the antithesis of what GW2 was supposed to be. Only certain classes with certain builds with high end gear will be invited to raid groups.
I tried doing the raid on my Thief and was laughed at, got on my Revenant with worse gear and had an invite in minutes.
Engineer/Scrapper with condition build will get invited but the rotation is very complicated and you will do less damage than a Warrior/Berserker.
