Returning Caldari Pilot

imscareyimscarey Member UncommonPosts: 9
So Im just returning to Eve have almost 19M SP which I know isn't really that fantastic. But reasonably focused through Missiles shields and Caldari Cruisers inc T3 and BC. I can also fly Caldari BS what is my best bet for starting to earn more isk in highsec. I have around 700M on hand and no corp. Not willing to join anything right away want to be comfortable as a solo pilot again before I rejoin team play.

You may want to try out all the new (solo) PvE content first ... the more difficult "burner" missions, the exploration missions (that may escalate up to Drifter encounters, which are NOT to be done solo), the Sansha invasions etc. Many of the battleship Level 4 missions have been revamped too.

@eillion should I be starting in a Drake or a Raven if I wish to try the new PVE content? Im thinking I shouldnt risk a Tengu right away as that would blow alot of capital if something goes wrong.

I would start with a T2 Raven first to get the feel again for the (L4) missions, upgrade to a Machariel / Golem / Navy Raven / T3 cruiser like the Tengu next.

For the "burner" missions you need a frigate with HIGH END equipment. And use a clone without expensive implants just in case.

For the Drifters ... whatever you feel comfortable losing .... if you get targetted, they usually one-shot kill you. Ships die fighting Drifters ;-) ... hope they die slow enough to overwhelm the Drifters before all player ships are killed.

For the Sansha .... whatever the attack fleet needs (join the invasion channels, ask what the players need and bring it).

One big addition to the game is the micro jump drive, fit your Raven with one and a very long range sniper fit. (let me know via PMs if you need a good fit)

Warp in at 100, drop a mobile tractor unit, micro jump to 200, and shoot all day with almost no chance of taking damage.

Consider moving out to null sec sooner rather than later, its where the real game starts and if you need a corp I can help you there too.

Seems like he is still very focussed on missiles and Caldari ships, so true long range sniper fits (based on T2 large artillery, ships with relevant stats (NOT a Raven ;-)  and 200+ km ranges) may not yet be possible skill wise.

T2 Raven Cruise Missiles mission runner fit perhaps to get started ?

I can give him a Cruise missle fit thatl locks at 240 km and hits out to 200 km, my corp mates run mid level anoms in null sec with them.

Sounds like a good choice, together with the mobile tractor unit you mentioned.
