Seven heroes? Why are there less heroes than last year?
Now that we're coming up on three years of Marvel Heroes, we've added a lot of heroes to the game with a (mostly) once a month cadence. As much as we love doing this, it's definitely taken time away from lots of other important initiatives, including content, system changes, and balance changes. This year, we have a lot of new initiatives to focus on (which we'll detail soon) and a lot of content we'd like to build. In order for the quality of these things to be high and come out when we feel good about them, we decided that making less playable heroes was the right answer. Quality over quantity for this year going forward.
Team-Up Heroes? In the Advance Pack?
Yep! We are going to be doing a solid amount of Team-Up heroes this year, but many of them will be tied to specific events or other media releases. In lieu of not doing a Team-Up Advance Pack at all, we decided that putting them into this back was the best place for them. There will be four in total, with two being announced today. We may yet do something like a fan vote for one of them at a later time.
Where is ___________? What about these characters? But why no __________?
Making a six character pack was really hard since we usually do twelve, so we hemmed and hawwed until we decided that we could squeeze in a seventh hero, but an undetermined one. If you know anything about undetermined heroes in our game, you know it can mean one of a few things: 1) We weren't ready to announce them, 2) We're not sure if we can pull a hero off, 3) We want to do a fan vote 4) We couldn't decide.
It's probably all of the above in this case. If you want a particular character in that seventh slot, start campaigning now.
Is Iron Spider exclusive to this pack?
He is a timed exclusive, meaning that players who purchase the pack will get the costume at least 30 days before anybody else. It will be an Enhanced costume, of course.
