I've been playing MMO's since 1999 and original Everquest. I played EQ until 2004. I played WoW for 9 years since vanilla beta. SWG pre-cu as well. I've bounced around from most mmo's on the market. I tried Blade & Soul for the past couple days and have had ALOT of fun compared to most other mmo's. The combat is engaging, graphics are very good aesthetically appealing, good music, quests don't seem grindy (yet@level 23), dungeon runs are fun and the dungeon lobby is a good addition. Only thing i dislike is the loot roll system in dungeons. It's a bid system and sometimes takes awhile for one piece of loot due to all the bids. Aside from that this is a very enjoyable game. I recommend at least trying it

I tried Tera awhile back and bla, bla, bla i absolutely love it. What I've become aware of is that these two games and the upcoming Black Desert are all fierce Korean competitors.
Although I'm totally loving BnS, Tera has been calling me back slowly, and as I've today i pre-ordered Black Desert, maybe i have a thing for Korean games lol.
Tera and BnS are more life friendly but from what I've gathered BD is far more time dependent? (a little more old school?) Sounds like it not sure if I'm right or wrong.
Anyway looks like I'm set for quite awhile as i plan on playing all 3 until i settle into one or continue to enjoy all 3.

Enjoy and know the truth always comes to light!
I haven't played WoW in a year but I am liking what i'm seeing in Legion gameplay on youtube. However... i think it's going to be another xpac you enjoy for a month or two and then they won't release content for another 2 or 3 years again. That's blizzards problem, killing themselves slowly.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Thanks for all the input
And the 1 mil people who tried it ( not saying they are active ) is the prove that MMO's are not death. The problem is that dev's didn't catch up with the player's need and to make a game FUN in the first place.

I see lots of incentives in OwPvP. There are a lot of PvP quests which once you learn their locations you can ambush and engage in lots of PvP for faction points which can be very lucrative as far as rewards are concerned. Engaging in PvP is also the only way to acquire Soul Stones and Moon stones which sell for a lot of money in MP. And aside from that there is the instanced group and solo PvP arenas. I think that's a nice variety. I see what you mean though. If it had OwPvP and sieges for forts and territory, that would be epic and super fun. And the coolest part about it are the uniforms in that once a player is ready to participate in PvP all they have to do is wear their faction uniform. I have to admit that for me it is a lot more fun than I expected. It is really quite well designed. Heck, I'm having a blast just windwalking all over the place :awesome:
Some of the most fun I've had in online mmo style pvp games, was oddly enough playing early Freeshards of DAoC. These were small servers run by players passionate about the game world, making new ways to pvp with events and equal stat gear all while using existing structures and areas in the game. It felt like fresh content every time I logged in.
Other games coming out this or next year will have these same possibilities, whether they choose to attempt something interesting will be main factor on if they make the long haul. I'm looking forward to many games this year(CU,Crowfall, ect.), and for some reason Bill's idea in the LoL thread of the possibility of a Riot lore MMORPG sounded like something I'd sign up for instantly if it ever announced.
