Comments section under articles no longer visible.

Yesterday I read up on the daily articles from the emailed newsletters, commented on one then went on to do my other daily stuff. I left the one article open just in case anyone replied.
I checked back a couple of times and everything was ok. Later in the day I checked, refreshed the page and all the comments disappeared, leaving only a black section under the article.
Today, I cannot see any comments. Clicking the '34 Comments' link acts like it's loading them, then nothing is displayed.
