Just wondering if the pvp is consensual or not? If it is i hope this game is a failure. If its not then this game looks butter. Any beta testers out there with  some info. on this game??

there is no PVP, i think their making a seperate game of horizon just for PVP.

Word is they are not going to release a PvP product of Horizons until the PvE version is complete.

If your looking for PvP of any kind, let alone unregulated PvP, then Horizons probably isn't the game for you (though it is unfortunate that racial enemies will never be able to settle their differences on a field of battle, something I very much looked forward to when I first heard about the game).

Although IMO from what I have read they are offering enough here for PvE that you won't even miss PvP in the game.

Horizons has stated all along that the game will focus on the community aspect of play. You can't very well focus on community play if the game is bogged down by a bunch of braindead Johnny Fragboys. You'd end up with a product like UO where everytime you'd step outside city limits you'd have people waiting in line to PK you. Stuff like that can kill a great product.

I wouldn't mind seeing PvP in certain areas (as long as it can still default back to RP reasons), but not over the entire game world.

I'm not sure, but maybe if we get rid of the undead menace. (if we can) maybe then we'll be able to fight like that or something.. but they are going to make an alternate Horizons after they're finished with this one for PVP, or something... I Dunno, I just woke up and I'm tired.

They said that at the very beginning but now alot has changed and i doubt it... but i really hope so... caus then you would have a choice weather to join a guild or not and go into war that would rule

I definately know that at some where at some point in time they did mention that you can have enemy guilds and therefore guild wars....we will so though. It will be cool regardless.

I may be incorrect but from what I read recently there will be no pvp at all in the initial release.  no duels or guild wars.  They said they wanted to concentrate on getting the pve element complete, balanced, and fun, then they would look into arena battles or other types of pvp stuff after release.

Exactly, because we can't fight amongst ourselves if we're just trying to get a foothold in enemy territory. Maybe then leaders will emerge from battle and will squabble for dominancy above other races and wars will run across the land. You really just have to think y'know?

What makes a game great is the freedom of doing what you want and not having to put up with trammel playing whiners like u jokers. This will suck without pvp and all the real ballers know this, Dragon Empires will represent to the fullest.....Have fun camping all day and beating liches down for some weak ass gold and a weapon

why start a post about a game if all you're going to do is bash it because it's not the game for you? You should just start a thread about Dragon Empires then.  Horizons is going to be PvE, and there's plenty of people who prefer that. I for one do because of fools who go give PvP a bad rap by mobbing noobs and kill stealing and stuff. I'm all for PvP if there's an actual challenge to it. I'm not totally against PvP if it's balanced and there's an actual challenge to it.

First off let me congratulate you on your obvious mad skills at beating down players  in an ego stroking rage as they leave town. If I could only aspire to greatness such as that. I mean it must take real talent to launch an ambush on unexpecting persons. Mostly by themselves and newbies right? Pfft I wouldn't even consider that PvP.

Nextly...Role playing is about doing what you want, but there are other things that factor in. You know, those minor things like character development and plot. Randomly killing people for no reason is definately not in the role playing spirit. If you want all PvP you should go play Quake or something. It will get all those useless game mechanics out of your way. I mean why even bother with a role playing game if you are wanting just to kill other players (as you've already stated your thoughts on killing monsters)?

You should read up on Horizons. The camping issue was already thought on and addressed. You might also see why the rest of us are so looking forward to the game. A MMORPG that is not a clone of another MMORPG, lots of fresh ideas. Not to mention it's COMMUNITY based. No current MMORPG I know of is community based (though UO would like to claim it is).

Hey its my $2 bucks... First the only bad thing that i see is u dont really get to be any evil races or classes thats kinda dumb that everyone has to be a good war, good pally, good sorc! but there is always other bad.. i would like to see evil races but living evil races that just have to barley put up with the good guys to kill the undead armies... Cuz i want to be a Necro or a Shadow knight or somthing sweet like in eq need more diversity in the classes is what im seeing and trying to find out if im wrong

But if they did and got a differnt pvp game. (whithout mindless killing) like in eq i started up on a pvp server and all it seemed when i walked out of the gate was all the news killing each outher when they got weak when they tried to kill somthing! lol ---
