Its the best MMORPG I have enjoyed playing in a long time. I prefer this over GW2, Tera, ArcheAge, Blade n Soul, Secret World and all others I have tried in the past 5+ years at least, if not much longer.

Its a nice blend of sandbox features + themepark features. The combat is the best action combat I have ever tried in an MMO. The graphics are the best of any MMO I have played as well, the atmosphere is so great.

Its not some insane new era of MMORPG gaming, but it surely is enjoyable to play and I look forward to doing some more of that when its released.

I've played CBT2. No doubt, the world is beautiful, but the presentation is very poor. The gameplay feels shallow.

    It's just not that good.

Voted definitely - 1.) I'm reviewing it. 2.) I actually quite like the early game. It's the late game that I have to worry about.

First, when you have a sandbox I don't think many will worry about the end game for a very long time since there is just tons of stuff to do other than kill mobs to level.

A LOT of us, me included wanted a sandbox with less PK game (ie. darkfall, L2 and AA) and more leaning into late game PvP  through arena and GvG with the thrill of still being risky in OW FFA so BDO has met that.

BDO is the game I dreamed of making except for the char level and flagging system.

The game just didn't seem to do it for me. But I will wait 6 months after it goes live and see how it develops but right now I'm saying good chance I won't play it.

I wish there were more reasons to group.  Other than that, I like just about everything else.

I agree that for a WoW and clones player, the game must be very confusing.

Its far from confusing, pve is mind numbing easy, and the combat is crap. Pretty much sums it up. Yes I played it enough to know , to me it sucks.

I've been in beta for this, and while the game is beautiful with excellent combat, It is lacking in a lot of areas.  The bottom line is that it is not better than the game I am playing, ESO, so I see no reason to pay for the game.  If it goes F2P and if the PvE experience is dramatically improved I will definitely give it another go.

The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!

Then stick to WoW, if you think it's harder... I'll be playing both, no problem with that.
But if you have always played games like EQ or WoW, where challenges are "theme-parkized" for you in raids and dungeons, you will definitely have a hard time understanding a game like Black Desert.
And sorry, but no matter how much I like WoW even now in my 12th year of playing it since release in Nov. 2004, combat while leveling in WoW never required a rocket science diploma either.
Never mentioned I play WoW once. I m commenting on the fact that you said for a WoW or it s clone players will find BDO confusing. That in itself is a joke. BDO is far from confusing , hard, tough, any words of that sort. It is mind numbing easy pve.

Well the trip to 50 was like an introduction. The real game starts there and ramps up.

Giving you a last chance then... what do you consider "hard" in a MMO ?

Giving me a last chance? Lol, whats that even mean. I played and enjoyed the hell out of FFXI, DAOC and AC1. I even play 2 of those as we speak. Sure they ve become a little easier, but BDO , hard , really. I could see if you said somewhat confusing, but hard it s not.

    I'm in

Although far from perfect, this is the style of MMORPG that I like to play. I'd be pleased to pay a sub if it meant that I would never have to deal with the cash shop.

It's definitely an ambitious game and I'm pleased to support it. Hopefully they make the right choices as time goes by, so I can continue to support  it.

Been playing KR for a bit and as there is nothing else out or coming soon that I want to play (Crowfall maybe end of the year?), I'll be playing for sure.

Like all games, it isn't perfect, but hits enough bullet points on my likes list to be played.

Sounds like Pearl Abyss is busy making new content and what not, just hope it makes it to NA/EU sooner than later and Daum doesn't do anything too crazy. After spending time on KR, going to be a bit of a set back to not have as much available.

    I am in...
Been waiting for the Sandbox element for years. I love the fact I don't have to deal with gold farming and I really love the fact I can run around in one city for hours just doing mini games too and discovering new things to do. I would love to see the mobs a littler harder being that I have always played a tank though.

    Most defiantly.

To sandbox is fantastic and I expect years of enjoyment.

For those that can't get past the cash shop I understand but the cash shop is not going to win the game for anyone. I hope they do have some means of supporting it on a monthly basis.
Haha people who can't get pass the cash shop are mad because it would not win or win them the game. What they are mad about is the fact that the stuff looks too "fluffy good" to them and they want it. I have never played a game where the fluffy stuff made me want to play anything. I play tanks I like my gear looking beat up anyways lol.

    Hi there,
after I played the CBT2, def. thumb up and TBH I now do not regret to have pre-ordered. I did not buy the CBT1, because I did not believe Hype. Additionally, I have already wasted much money in other so called "pledge" and "pre-order" to get in Alpha / Beta.

I played a Witch up to lvl 35 and all other classes up to 10-15. Despite it is strange, that you cannot play every gender in class, it did not matter to me.

So here is what I gonna do: I put another 50.- in there to get the full package and I cannot wait the start.

    Cheers

I'm annoyed by the gender locking of some classes.
Thankfully, the rest of the game largely compensates for that.

    Pre-ordered the "Adventurer" pack.
Although gender lock is annoying, im with you here. I didnt play CBT2 but i played CBT1 and i've been fully in since then.

Games fun with a lot of unique features, but other things like the future of the cash shop worry me.

Wouldn't play tell Blader and maybe even not until his awakening is out either way though as I just am not a fan of any of the other classes play styles and character visuals in the least. So I will watch and see what the game becomes in 2-3 months time instead of just the short term fun it could be now.

Am actually surprised by the amount of poster's who were leaning negatively earlier in CB2 and have changed their opinion.

Kind of like Scotch. It's seems to be the type of thing that grows on you.

I am in.... to long ago i played a good PvP game...

There seems to be enough PvE as well as RTS style gameplay to keep me busy when there is no PvP..

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

my only issue with the game so far is the black spirit stuff, I wish I didn't have to watch a cutscene so frequently

Nice work cutting my whole previous post to a single sentence, putting it totally out of context.

And I said confusing, not hard. The games you listed aren't hard either. Just different. You obviously never played a true sandbox MMO like UO.

Enjoy your game bashing, I'm out of this discussion with you - have fun in your games, whatever you play!

Played UO as well. I ve played literally them all. Not that I m going to miss chatting , lol. Can t have a discussion I see, that might be different from your opinion. Keep enjoying life in your own little bubble. I m not saying I m right , just different opinion on what I consider hard. A messed up UI , spammy annoying combat, and so called sandbox, which it is a little not completely, doesn t make it confusing to anyone, whether they enjoy WoW or not. It s just different and takes some time getting used to. For me it didn t, the game however IN MY OPINION isn t hard, confusing or a sandbox. PVE isn t hard at all, when FFXI, DAOC back in the day was. You actually feared dying, in BDO or many games nowadays, who cares if you die, it s a minor inconvenience at worst.
