I don't think it would be a good idea for Geralt as a playable character I can imagine that there would be thousands of Geralt's which would be a bit weird. Having him as an NPC I would be fine with.

I don't think it would be a good idea for Geralt as a playable character I can imagine that there would be thousands of Geralt's which would be a bit weird. Having him as an NPC I would be fine with.
True, as an NPC is fine. Definitely not playable in an mmo as there is only one Geralt lol. We can all be witchers and join the different schools (wolf, snake, etc). But then, Making an mmo will probably halt the Single Players games. I really want to see Witcher continue with Ciri in a Witcher 4.
Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect have potential.
Red Dead or say any Western game TBH its a wonder it hasnt been done there where some great board /Rpg games Boot Hill, GunSlingers heck throw DeadWood from fantasy flight in there.

IMO, I don't think there is a very good translation between the two. In the end, I think the final product would not resemble the original model well enough to be considered a "version" (Meaning online/offline/multi-player/single-player) of the same game.
How about the other way around? What mmo would you like to see as a single player games?
Personally, i don't think any of the single player games that i like would be more fun as MMOs.
I think FF did Ok with it.
As an MMO made into a single player game? AOC. A proper Conan single player game needs to be made and not that one they made a few years back for consoles.
That i will definitely try. A single player game can have a much better story too, not that good story cannot be done in instances.
I'd probably have to vote for Mass Effect. We just don't have many good sci-fi MMO's. It has a good story behind it, multiple races and various classes already so could definitely have the depth needed.
I usually despise sci-fi games, probably because most of them are garbage anyway. Hell I was never much of a star wars fan either. But I have to say I loved every second of mass effect 1-3. It's probably my favourite game series of all time, and that's saying a lot.
I was kinda expecting "Mass effect 4" to be an MMO, so I'm very surprised they didn't go that route. I'm sure they would have brought a lot of new players to MMO genre if they did. That said, with the popularity of the newer sci-fi titles, I have no doubt it's only a matter of time before we get a Mass Effect MMO. The only sci-fi "multiplayer" title I'm even willing to give a try.

They may do a Destiny .. or Division but i highly doubt they will go the full MMORPG route, given the genre is no longer attracting AAA investments.

Well, I want a farming/dating sim MMO like Harvest Moon (though preferably a bit more grown up), but apparently there have been attempts to make one and they've all failed or not been translated to English.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story. So PM me if you are starting one.
I think the Sims could honestly use a legit MMO. I think how they did Simcity 2013 would have worked better with the Sims.
As a single-player game the sims has really low retention among first time users. I can't see it working as an MMO unless they focused on players cooperating to make movies, or being a 2nd life kind of customization market game.
