Yeah it seems most companies are trying to keep people inside their created ecosystems. Steam,Apple, Google, Microsoft even Sony. It makes since from a business point of view.
yup..
its just a matter of WHICH ecosystem caters the best to your desires and for me its Steam
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Funny thing, apparently Sony are talking about being able to stream PS4 games to your PC, i don't know about others, but, if that means you will be able to play those games with a mouse and keyboard instead of a gamepad, that would be huge. HUGE. Be funny as hell though, if they didn't support Win 10
I know some people, I have a friend here at work, who is against the whole ecosystem thing. He buys the box for something or GOG since they have early access now as well. Anything with any kind of DRM and he flies into a 20 minutes speech about them controlling us and our content. lol
yeah people who cry about DRM are a bit off. Kinda in the same group as 'oh my god no instances or I am not playing!!!!!!'
many people dont see Steam as an ecosystem and in a way I see why they think that but for all purposes (but perhaps not intents) it is.
Its just better by far than Microsoft or Sony when it comes to gaming

news comes via a Tweet by Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, who confirmed the functionality was coming.
"Some
people asked if we plan to provide Remote Play function to PC, and
yes, we are indeed working on an official application for PC/Mac," he wrote, followed by a whimsical smiley face.
That's likely to come as bad news to Twisted.
The developer intended to charge for its streaming application, and if
Sony's current streaming implementation with Xperia phones and the Vita
is anything to go by, their tools will be free.
Still, there's no
word on whether Sony will allow mouse and keyboard compatibility with
the streaming, which is probably the only real benefit for PC gamers.
Smart move on Sony's part. They need to add KB/M support though. I have a PS4 as well so I am happy with that news.
mouse and keyboard is a disaster zone if the game is designed and setup as a controller based game

I agree Steam has done a great job. The hacking needs to be a focus but they have a great ecosystem. Their hardware is decent. The controller has come a long way but to me their best hardware is their SteamLink
you really have a thing for playing games elsewhere. I suspect that will fade overtime. For me my PC is in the living room as the main focus of the room so steaming a game somewhere else is of little to no interest to me.
For me Steam ecoystem is all about the games, leaders of VR, that they try and help small indie developers and basically their attitude toward the whole thing. When they speak its like a breath of fresh air

The PS4 already has KB/M support, you can plug in a regular Keyboard and Mouse into the USB ports and they work just fine, the problem really is that not all games allow you to use KB/M on the PS4, but some do, i know that FFXIV:ARR in particular allows you to switch between gamepad and KB/M on the PS4, as well as on the PC, its games like Destiny that don't allow it.

and even if the game allows for it doesnt mean its designed well for it. A game that doesnt take that into consideration can be hard to control for someone used to M/K

Well the controller still works if you would play it through your PC as well. I have an Xbox controller on my PC
hmmm take a guess
Do I have or even want a controller or even play games where controllers are the focus? yes or no
guess
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Depends on the game I guess. For you? What you play and how you play it matters not to me. For me? I used a controller for Shadows of Mordor on Steam using one on Solus Project now
and to boot now that I think of it play a console game on a PC using an xbox controllers to me seems like the strangest thing ever, let alone calling it a major innovation of any kind.
its just seems like why not use the xbox itself in the first place. but we have already had that talk i think

The point is really, where do you want to play? on the couch? At your computer desk? Well both are an option. How do you want to play it? KB/M? Controller? Well both are an option. I will probably play No Man's Sky with a controller. Just depends on my mood at that time. I like having options.
I cant argue with that, other than I would rather you look at Elite Dangerous, Space Engineers or even StarMade instead of No Man's Sky. Other than that I agree

Ok THAT was a confusing mess, but I think I have it down.
@hfztt compares VR to 3D movies and loving on AR, more specifically HoloLense
@SEANMCAD then comes back to defend VR with , "a LOT of reasons VR is way better for multiple reasons." and talks about why he doesn't like AR and saying people are only liking hololense because it has M$ name on it.
@blueturtle13 then sees SEANMCAD HATES MICROSOFT and claims 90% of all VR games will be running on MS OS - which I might add as obviously a misread (if read at all) of a post and making a bit of a useless comment. Sorry blueturtle13, but the quoted comment had nothing to do with "Windows" specifically. not to mentions 90% of ALL GAMES run on windows anyway :P
(since when did /:P mean pleased? It's supposed to be a tongue. Fix your damn emoticons MMORPG.com)
then @SEANMCAD goes on some future telling rampage, then @blueturtle13 replies with something I just don't eve....
Never mind I don't have it. I'm tired. Good night.

I dont understand, FORZA is EXACTLY one of the games i am saying I am not interested in. hello? anyone?
The forza comment was not for you. The "most games run better on Windows 10" was. I'm just saying that not choosing Windows 10 because it doesn't offer games you want is silly because it is Windows and still runs all the other games. It's not like you're going to miss out on old games. It's your choice. I was just making a comment about that fact.

ah gotcha.
well my 'doesnt offer what I want' was directed toward the windows store and toward microsofts vision of 'how we can improve PC gaming' not windows itself.
