Launch day and they can't even get the servers up

Yesterday the official launch date was 3rd of March at 12.00 UTC.
During the day they ninja changed it to 2 PM UTC.
At 2 PM UTC they said the servers are down for another 2 hours.
At 4 PM UTC they say it will be down another hour.

Epic fail launch.

Oh yeah, the forums crashed too due to their constant delays in getting the servers up.

Yeah this situation with Black Desert is way out of control.

Seems they are having major network issues....didnt they anticipate this? Apparently the "server stabalization" included in the patch notes was "fail".

Thing is this happens to a lot of MMORPGs on launch day. Heck it even happens with MMORPGs that's been out for years when they patch.

Not sure why people are acting as if this has only happened to BDO.

I cant even play since im in the red zone.

I guess ppl resort to VPNs to avoid these blocks which make the ping worse... buy the trick is to normally start the VPN and then disconnect once already in.

The problem with that is, they can possibly patch to block that kind of work around, and ofc installing those kind of programs are always sketchy imo.

So, cant play. Hopefully it gets better, and is a good MMO and may be I can join some time in the future. Im not too eager to join anyways, but I cant speak for the others in the red zone.

Better a few hours more maintenance and no further problems than to rush it.

It is only extended if they can actually manage to get them up. They haven't and they are using this "extended maintenance" as an excuse for being unable to get the servers up.

I didn't say the servers don't work. I said they are unable to get them up, on official launch day.

I am in and playing without any major issues.  Seeing as how all the pre-launch players where already stressing the servers, they had to take the servers down to beef up the hardware and add more to the listing. Otherwise we would all be waiting in long ques just to get in and play from the pure load of additional players.

Im not understanding why there are this many more players showing up at launch.  All they had to do was buy the game by feb 26th to be considered preordering.  I would have though 90% of the players were playing at least by yesterday.

I was on the fence, due to cash shop and genderlock, but decided to buy it on the day before launch.

I can't even download the client at the moment. I began to wonder if I got the launch day wrong and when I confirmed that today was the official launch day, I registered and tried to find the page for the client download and I can't find it anywhere. I have never had this issue before. I must be doing something wrong????

EDIT: Scrap that. I just had to change my browser settings.  Much embaressment.

Still debating playing, but will wait for rush to die down regardless
