Returning player with questions

Hi there!

Managed to get everything in order so I can re-invest some time in this great game, but this time, I want things done differently. Because of this, I have several questions:

1. Would like to create a new account to re-get the hang of the game. I saw that the referral program for my main account is either broken or deactivated. I do not see a link anywhere. How can I get the invite?

2. I always played for the PvE. This time I want to PvP from almost the beginning, and for that I would like some advice on the starting ships. The role I would like to fulfill is similar to the tackler, but more into the whole "I'm orbiting so close and so fast to you that your weapons have no time to turn shoot me". What race, ship type and weapon combo should I go for this?

3. Following up the previous question, what starter pack should I get? Skirmisher maybe?

4. I stopped playing shortly after they introduced planetary settlements. What big changes have there been since, that I should be aware of?

5. Some other detail I might want to know?

Better to reactivate your existing account, even if it was 100% PVE focused you can by skill extractors to rebalance your character.

Character race is irrelevant, racial ships matter of what guns you want to shoot first, more important, train for small hulls such as interceptors, assault frigates and Dessies.

Starter pack? No clue.

Sleepers, shattered space, citadels, fozzie sov come immediately to mind.

For what you want to do this is great advice.  The only thing I would recommend is:

hit F12 (in game) look about halfway down the  page and you will notcine a heading called career agents, with a littl ebox that say's : show career agents.  Do that, set them as your destination and go do their missions.  At least the Combat ones.  You will get some free ships, free skills and re-introduced to the game.  The go join Pandemic Horde and have a blast.
