It's boring as hell, if anything that's why it would fail.
That's what I thought. Then I played the game.

it failed for u, but it's a success to others, just learn to respect other peoples opinions too, what's the point in posting your personal opinion in a public forum?

and its b2p so it's a win for daum already at least they are being paid...

I think its good to offer opinions here that's why I did it,  not everyone has cash to burn and they might be trying to make a decision between one game and another... my post isn't the only post in regards to it being P2W, for people who are still curious I'm sure one post won't stop them if they are a true gamer =P

I think there is a certain criteria when deciding if a certain game failed. There is a huge difference between genres when deciding that as well. If we're strictly discussing about MMOs, then we have to adjust it based on the business model.

But how do you say a certain MMO failed? I think we can all agree that if an MMO shuts down before even reaching 5 years, it has definitively failed. Some would even consider not being P2P MMO or switching from P2P to F2P being a failed MMO too. Even though we've seen that for the past few years, F2P online games are by far more popular and even bring way more revenue.

In BDO's case, it certainly didn't fail. I mean come on the game is at the moment barely #33 most played MMO in Korea. It's a miracle it has any success in the West after all. Blade & Soul is #5 most played MMO in Korea and is already struggling here, even though it was way more hyped here than Black Desert.

Just because you can't retain the numbers WoW, ESO, FFXIV, GW2 and SWTOR have, that doesn't mean you failed. People have no idea how far ahead these top 5 MMOs actually are in the West, other MMOs would kill for those numbers. It's a premium market after all, which is why we see so many Eastern MMOs struggling when arriving over here.

Either way I'm certain neither BDO nor B&S will remain in the top 10 MMOs in the West in the next few years, but is that really so unexpected? The only thing that is actually unexpected is that Black Desert might actually beat Blade & Soul in the West.

It's dead for me long time ago, the PvP from what ive seen is clown fiesta.
That being said the game offers some interesting stuff to do and is not expensive imo worth your bucks if you wanna play it, i personally can't be asked to do so if the PvP is not good.

This game failed in every other region, with a population falling into irrelevance after merely a couple of weeks. Why did anyone think it would be different in the West. A bad game is a bad game.
Do you know what game is ranked in KR? bah..  i recommend you to see the list

So what did the OP think was going to be said when he posted something negative about BDO here?  It sounded to me like he was just giving his opinion on the game.  You don't have to agree, but it doesn't make his opinion wrong.  I haven't played it nor will I.  It just looks like another Eastern made grinder to me which doesn't spell enjoyable.

OP, you had better find another hobby.  This is pretty much all your going to get for the near future.  I stopped playing mmo's last year and don't miss them at all.  I still like to follow whats going on though.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

I am LMAO on the floor here.
Do you really think the Koreans release games out here since they like us ?
Whaha it just to milk some extra cash out of a game witch already made  them lots of profit.
they know that in the west there will always be thousands of peeps willing to spend $100 just to play with a head start :pleased:
They just know we in the west are stupid with our credit cards :pleased:
They will lough their asses off when it actually does fail.
Why do you thing the HQ is located in the Netherlands ?
Same reason Queen, the Beatles, Google, Starbucks is  located in a mailbox in the Netherlands's.
To pay less Tax over the profit they make before shipping it back to Korea :P

    B.T.W. i love the  game :P

The pvp is awful due to the extreme vertical scaling resulting in under 2 second TTKs in GvG. If you are a level 55 wizard or archer maybe the game is fun, for anyone else who actually likes good pvp its pure trash.

None of the things you have listed detract from the game imo.

I don't want to be "top dog".

I can see a guy in Ghillie suit a mile away...even in the forest.

Trading works fine. The marketplace makes just about anything easily accessible, even for new players.

Don't sell if you don't wanna sell. Press "P" and notice you have a Trading skill. Maybe learn that part of the game.

Of course stronger guilds will dominate in GvG. This is not an everybody-takes-home-a-trophy kind of game. We threw out the 8th place ribbons.
