Question here is what do you think about the critic? The point about being the best as it could be is I guess that we all went into it as noobs and from now on we all will know the story, gameplay, progression and any update will just add more grind.
I haven't seen this posted and am rather curious about how other people see the future of this game.
Do you think Ubisoft will be able to add something unique, unseen before or will it just be +10 levels with loot that has a bit more dmg added?
Personal view on pay $10-15 to play content is more hp mobs and higher dmg weapons which is rather boring but my hope is that there will be serious changes overall and especially in the pvp system. One guild controls sector x, another sector y and they fight to take over each others sector because it gives 5% better loot overall or something. You know... pvp with purpose. At that has to happen by the end of the year the latest for the game to stay relevant imo.

If the current format of the Division remains popular, it is unlikely to change in any significant way. Both big changes and amazing new content would cost significant amounts of money.
In the gaming industry, the ROI on development cost is usually far higher when that cost is associated with a NEW GAME, rather than expanding or enhancing an existing game.
Devs are looking to cut corners everywhere.I said about this game that they released NOT enough,i think their CEO and big shots decided they would sell you the rest of the game a second maybe third time.So by time you get a couple dlc's and a decently sized game you would have paid well over 100 bucks.
Itemization ....just numbers/stats yep that is what most games do because it takes too much effort to make visible items.Even the looting is done cheap with just a screen and no actual interaction. Now i have said before i can accept a smallish game,a couple maps but you need to make sure that small game is fully complete with interaction.
Basically what Joe is saying is the game world does not feel real and alive it feels like as i like to call it...A bunch of modules and graphics.Even worse in mmorpg's because we get the same ideas behind design but only WORSE graphics, less props etc etc.

Bad PC port of a console game. Not unexpected. When the community has to put together a change.org petition to get a PC version made, what do you really expect?
Game is great on console.
Only thing I 100% agree with is that the game as it currently sits is a great foundation for everything we thought/they told us the game would/could be.
It's an MMO, MMO-light whatever you want to call it, but like all new online multiple RPG mmo-ish games, it takes about a year for the game to shake out and for them to really deliver on the concept.
Thankfully they've got a few months worth of free updates followed by at least 2 paid DLC to roll out in the next 10 or so months.
Games like this shouldn't even be reviewed for 3-6 months to be completely fair.
As it stands right now, I'd probably give it an 8/10 simply because the end-game is very light on content, but Dark Zone at 30 is a lot of fun, it's very suspenseful and can create some awesome game and player moments.
Incursions is going to be the big test. How can they make something more challenging than challenge mode without just making the already RIDICULOUS level of bullet-sponginess and NPC damage way, way too far over the top?
That's my biggest complaint, the difficulty is very uneven. Hard is pretty much a joke, and once you hit 30 and get a little bit of gear, if you are not on hard/challenge or in the DZ areas with level 31/32 mobs, you don't even really need to use cover you can just run and gun everything down.
They need to lower the bullet sponginess and enemy damage in hard/challenge, and ramp up the AI and enemies use of agent-like abilities to force more difficulty without simply making it tedious.
Just my 2 cents.

Generic shooter with some RPG elements. Glad I passed on this one.
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
I was pretty excited about The Division and I was even considering buying it full price, but after his review I'm gonna wait a good long while for some of the stupidity to get resolved.
I still don't understand how people are calling The Division an "MMO" when it's not even close to being an MMO.
It's a shooter with RPG elements that plays online. No where is it "massively" Why do people put the MMO tag on this game? It makes absolutely no sense at all.
As for Incursions... I wouldn't put much stock in them. As you said yourself, what else can they do past challenge mode? Not much variation really. Just more instances where you shoot bag guys, collect currency/loot and repeat. Don't get me wrong, I have fun with The Division but there's only so much they can do post launch and only so much we can do right now in-game. Dark Zone can be fun but it gets boring really quick. You run through the same Landmarks for named bosses with the occasional PvP scuffle.
Amazing how many gamers seem to enjoy "average" games.

I agree that his review are usually good, but there's too much childish bs in them, making them unnecessary long, which is why I rarely watch them anymore. This one I *did* watch, and it sounds pretty much as what I expected.
Grabbing the game on some sale later when it's at €5-10, not before.
If you ignore Joe's campy histrionics, you'll notice that he actually likes the core of TD. The game has potential, and he recognizes that. He just doubts whether that potential will ever be realised. So do I.
There isn't a ai in the world that can stand up to the tactics players would use if challenging mobs didn't have high dmg and hp. Hell once you get a certain dps they melt just as easy currently.
A 5-8 is a good range for this game. Ultimatley boiling down to if you like loot grinds in the form of a third person shooter. I give it a 7 because I can see how they cut a lot of corners but I can easily see why someone would be turned off about having to "grind".
Games should be reviewed when they are released, reviews are for consumers. A smart consumer will look at launch and a current review though to avoid being burned.
The thing that bothers me the most is game companies are moving away from giving you armor pieces with 100's of different models to 3 or less and now just stats that move upward so you feel your progressing.
For a very long time nobody knew what The Division really was.. everyone kind of put their own label on it. A lot of people on this site haven't played it, and likely won't play it, but still revel when it gets a mediocre review. Still, the game has been doing well, on the consoles it still has queue times throughout the day, sometimes going into the thousands on the weekend. Eventually everyone will get to cap and if there isn't anything to do, they'll just pop back in on the next update.
Skirmish modes would probably keep people playing but... it wouldn't really work well when gear is vital to your builds. They would have to go the GW2 build route, and that diminishes the gameplay. Team based arenas could still be fun, but balancing would be an issue.
Going forward we can wait and see what new content comes out. The first content update is in a couple weeks.
